Korea 2013 In Analogue

Written by • Apr 23rd, 2013 • Category: Lead Story
Despite my attempt to shoot more rolls of film this trip,  I ended up coming back with only a couple of rolls. This first roll is a Lomography Tunsten 64 cross processed and shot using my precious Ricoh GR21. To be honest … I am trying hard to get back my trigger happy ways. I had my LC-A+ with me but it saw only a handful of exposures before going back into my bag. I think I might have just picked the right film to load … as the cherry… >> read more

Few Randoms From Korea

Written by • Apr 21st, 2013 • Category: Lead Story
Eight days on a vacation in Korea … and I came back with tons of photos of Fitzand, few random shots from the streets (digital) and exposed just 2 rolls of film. Don’t ask me where did my trigger happy habit went. If you happen to see it … give me a call. Anyway … while I am struggling to go through the tons of photos of Fitzand … here are the other random shots I took … mostly street photos that I snapped one evening when the mood came.… >> read more

dothebag mono 08

In the process of making a comeback (ie. spending time snapping more photos) … I picked up a new camera bag to replace my Kelly Moore ‘Boy’ bag (which was a big disappointment and you’ll read more about it later in this entry). I must admit I have one too many camera bags at home but I couldn’t resist this full leather one from monochrom (site in German). The name ‘dothebag’ is pretty cool too eh? 😀 dothebag mono 08 It is of the right size (for me) as I’m… >> read more

Test Driving The Sony RX1

Written by • Feb 25th, 2013 • Category: Lead Story
So this is one hell of an expensive camera … one that has caused much excitement (and disappointment about the price) with a full frame sensor and a killer lens. I took one for a short test drive to see how awesome it is and managed to capture a handful of photos today. Street photography is fun with this almost silent camera. The 35mm lens makes it a wonderful tool for street photography. Colors are pretty awesome although I prefer using the ‘neutral’ setting instead of the ‘standard’ one. I’ll… >> read more

Loving Sunshine

It has been a while since I’ve updated my blog and since Fitzand went to bed very early today (2 sessions of skating lessons did the trick!) … I dug out few photos I took some weeks back (before the Lunar New Year) from my window … of the sunset. I’m one who prefers the sunrise (despite the crazy pain of waking up real early) but it doesn’t matter … it is still the same sun that’s gonna rise the next morning. These were shot using my Fujifilm XS-1. Although… >> read more

Working Out The DSLR

Written by • Jan 29th, 2013 • Category: Lead Story
My DSLR is probably the most neglected camera in my cabinet and thus I told myself that I should give it some workout yesterday when I brought Fitzand out for some outdoor fun. The weather wasn’t too friendly and we were at the Punggol Waterfront pretty early … at about 230pm. Still we had fun and my old trigger happy habit kicked in and I ended up with tons of photos (of Fitzand).   It almost ended up in a disaster because I forgot to insert a SD card into the… >> read more

Roll The Dice

It has been over a week since I took this shot with my SX-70 and it is only now that I remember to scan it. Maybe I’ll try take a couple more shots this weekend … scan them and try do emulsion lift before the images fade away (like my memory). The film used was a pack of Impossible Project’s PX70 Color Protection. I walk along an empty street I love the sounding of my feet It makes me feel so good and though There’s nobody else around, not a… >> read more

Drops Of Miracle

This is a roll of Fujifilm Neopan 400 that I thought would never see the light of day. It is the 2nd test roll that I fed to the Ricoh GR21 in Japan and the roll was left in my drawer for months as I had run out of developer and just couldn’t find time to go replenish it. Last Sunday … I got a little crazy and there was this voice inside my head that told me to get the roll developed. The problem was … I still haven’t… >> read more

Instant Birthday

It is never a good idea bringing Fitzand to the camera shops as he will make me buy him some Instax Mini film with cartoon frames. The last trip to ThirtySix with him resulted in the purchase of a few packs of those cute film but I’ve been forgetting to use them til last weekend … on his birthday. He was delighted to see me loading the pack of film after I finished a couple of remaining plain frame ones. It is a little too early for Chinese New Year… >> read more

Plus A Doggie

Put the finishing touch to the Nano blocks digital camera yesterday and it should now be sitting comfortably somewhere in a friend’s place. I was hunting for a nice display box for it but somehow most were either too big or simply unsuitable. Then I suddenly remembered having this display box that I bought from Ikea … many many years ago. The box didn’t really fit too nicely because the camera was a little too big but luckily I was able to tape up the back with the camera nicely… >> read more
