Seeing Red After Beer

Written by • Jul 22nd, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
The roll (of disaster) that was halfway scanned (a roll of Lomo redscale 120) from some weeks back became an eyesore on my desk … so I decided to scan the surviving shots and get over it as soon as possible. Yeah … this was the roll I shot (with my Diana F+) not long ago … during an ‘outing’ with Jimmy (from ThirtySix). Most of the shots from this roll turned out underexposed. πŸ™ πŸ™ πŸ™ Note to self : Do not drink beer before taking photographs! Hehehe! I’m… >> read more

Impossible Is Possible!

Written by • Jul 8th, 2012 • Category: Others
Last Friday evening on the way to fetch Fitzand from the kindergarten … my phone buzzed and in came an email. I took a quick look and went ‘Whoa!!! OMG!!! Really??!!!’. It was an email from those guys from Impossible Project telling me that my submission for their ‘101 Ways’ project was accepted and will beΒ published in the upcoming Impossible 101 Ways book. The project … in Impossible Project’s own words … ‘From October 2011 to January 2012 we invited you to submit your ideas on what one can… >> read more

Pack Film Light Leaks!

Written by • Jul 6th, 2012 • Category: Others
It was an ‘accident’ turned into some cool tip to add light leaks into pack films. Brian from Rural Decay shared me with this new trick that makes me wanna pick up some new film to experiment with. Here are some of the sample results from Brian … I like such photos (yeah … messy … madness … magic!). Click here to check out Brian’s video on how he ‘added’ the light leaks into the photos.  … >> read more

ZOOming In

Written by • Jul 1st, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
A trip to the zoo yesterday morning gave me the opportunity to give the Fujifilm X-S1 a test drive. Not one who usually use (or see the need) of a tele lens … I found myself struggling to find subjects to shoot just to test out the camera. The zoo outing was a perfect opportunity to zoom in close to the animals! The 24-624mm lens on the X-S1 sounds perfect as a camera for everything including a 1mm close super macro mode. Will this be the travel camera I’ve always… >> read more

Baby Fisheye Meets UFO Cam

Written by • Jun 28th, 2012 • Category: Toys
Dropped by ThirtySix this afternoon to pick up a Lomography Baby Fisheye since they are having this ‘Find me baby!’ promotion going on. I went for the plastic version since there ain’t a hotshoe on the metal version to directly mount a flash. No … I don’t quite like using a sync cable and hold a flash in my other hand. Hahaha! Lazy eh? Anyway … I managed to (easily!) spot the 3 Baby Fisheye cameras ‘hidden’ around the store and in a simple lucky draw … I won a… >> read more

Diana + Redscale Randoms

Written by • Jun 26th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
I’m getting closer to clearing all the partially exposed rolls of film left stuck in some cameras. This time … a roll of Lomography redscale film finally got fully exposed and it in are some random shots from Taiwan and Singapore. Well … only 2 were shot in Taiwan. πŸ˜› I could only find time to scan 4 of them and will try stay awake tonight to finish scanning the others. Most of them seem to be a underexposed and looks very red! This one (above) was taken during a… >> read more

Fisheye2 Vs Fathers’ Day

Written by • Jun 18th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
Happy Fathers’ Day!!! Now time sure zap past real fast and it is another Fathers’ Day. It was just last year that I did a short video for the ‘Papa Amigo‘ feature in Lomography’s website. This year Fitzand made me some lovely cards in school and yesterday we had an early celebration … having a hotpot lunch and some beer in the evening. I got wasted downing too much beer during Mothers’ Day … so this time … I had only 3 pints. πŸ˜› Today I loaded a roll of… >> read more

iPad For Daddy!

Written by • Jun 16th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
Fitzand gave me an iPad for Fathers’ Day when I picked him up from the kindergarten yesterday. Lol. I was laughing when I saw this ‘iPad’ that he made during their computer class few days ago and he told me … ‘Daddy! Don’t laugh!’. He continued to show me a couple of other stuffs he made for me … The ‘iPad’. πŸ˜€ Awww! I love kids’ drawings and so I took some snapshots of these that Fitzand drew on the card he gave me. Now … I think he gets… >> read more

The OneKnot Strap

Written by • Jun 14th, 2012 • Category: Toys
Finally found a leather wrist strap that I love lots! This 21cm OneKnot wrist strap from Zhou (jiozhou on eBay) is made from fine cow hide … looks simple … and has the ‘raw’ look that I love. It is very soft and comfortable yet feels strong enough for most cameras that doesn’t weigh a ton. There ain’t no stitches or clips. The design is cleverly secured using a simple knot (thus the name OneKnot). Luckily it is pretty nicely priced (US$18.50) that I bought two of these … one… >> read more

Sardina Re-lovin

Written by • Jun 11th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
Here’s another roll of film that has been ‘fermenting’ in a camera for some time. This time … it is a roll of Lomography 100 negatives in my La Sardina. The La Sardina has been one of my favorite Lomography camera! Was lucky to have some light leaks thrown in for a couple of shots. πŸ˜€ Since around 99% of my free time is spent with Fitzand … the little boss’s face appears in quite many frames (again). Hmm … I can’t recall when I loaded this roll of film… >> read more
