Plus A Doggie

Written by • Jan 7th, 2013 • Category: Toys

Put the finishing touch to the Nano blocks digital camera yesterday and it should now be sitting comfortably somewhere in a friend’s place. I was hunting for a nice display box for it but somehow most were either too big or simply unsuitable. Then I suddenly remembered having this display box that I bought from Ikea … many many years ago.

The box didn’t really fit too nicely because the camera was a little too big but luckily I was able to tape up the back with the camera nicely… >> read more

Had a super wonderful beer session last night on New Year eve … slept about 4am and got kicked outta bed at around 730am. A few rounds of espresso today didn’t help much but since it is a public holiday today … I’ll just go into overdrive mode and try get some stuffs done.

Wish everyone a wonderful new year and may tons of fun and happiness decorate our lives! Cheers!
While we were out shopping a couple of days ago … I picked up 3 packs of those Nano… >> read more

Nano Block Toy Camera

Written by • Dec 27th, 2012 • Category: Toys

I couldn’t find any of these cute little Nano Block cameras in Tokyo when I was there not too long ago and as I was slowly forgetting about it … those (grrr!!!) lovely guys from ThirtySix started carrying this product! They come in red, yellow, white, black and blue and since I was picking an extra set up for a buddy … I went for two sets … a red and a yellow.

Candy colored packaging. Yummy!

It comes with a small pack of extra blocks for you to have… >> read more

The Damages

Written by • Nov 17th, 2012 • Category: Toys

We decided to skip the trip to the Bandai museum as I read that it only opens to pubic on weekends and Fitzand is only interested to check out the Power Rangers stuffs. As an alternative, we brought him to Hakuhinkan Toy Park near Ginza … one of the largest and best toy stores here in Tokyo. As expected … he was complaining about the long walk and train rides but this time a lot less because I promised to buy him toys.

He saw many of his favourite Power… >> read more

X-Pro1 Uglified

Written by • Oct 27th, 2012 • Category: Toys

Before you start reading or looking at the images below … please note that I am perfectly fine and my mental state is (maybe) in the ‘normal’ position.
After I recently ‘blacked out’ all the white prints/text on my X-Pro1 … I decided to uglify it. Yeah … give it a ‘been through hell’ kind of look. With a little help from Mr Sandpaper … now it sure looks like it has been through some hell.

No … I didn’t drag it for a mile or two. I just gave… >> read more

The Last Camera

Written by • Oct 21st, 2012 • Category: Toys

The Last Camera from Superheadz is the latest DIY camera that got some of us all excited and curious about. Picked up a set from ThirtySix yesterday and after Fitzand went to bed … me and my old eyes started work on trying to assemble the many little parts in the package. Due to the many tiny parts … I just can’t risk trying to assemble it while Fitzand is watching TV … as he will keep coming to tell me stuffs like ‘Daddy … Megatron is dead ya know?’.… >> read more

RX100 Skinned

Written by • Oct 10th, 2012 • Category: Toys

Probably the only ‘problem’ I find with the Sony DSC-RX100 … the way too slippery matt black surface of the camera body. Maybe it is just my fat clumsy fingers but I sure wished it has some form of rubber/leather skin to make holding it easier. Of course to be safe … I always use a wrist strap with it. I saw some shots (here in Singapore) selling some skins (not sure if they are leather or rubber though) but from the photos I saw (of the cam and skin)… >> read more

The X-Pro1 Blackout

Written by • Sep 20th, 2012 • Category: Toys

AB Version? Yeah … AB = All Black!
After giving a steriod shot to my X-Pro1 yesterday … in the form a version 2.0 firmware update from Fujifilm … I’m loving the camera even more. Frankly in the past (before the update), although the autofocusing is a little on the slow side … it wasn’t really a problem to me. Like I said many times before … any camera that can allow me to capture decent images of my boy (who is always moving!) is fast enough. The update seemed… >> read more

The ’311 We Care’ Strap

Written by • Aug 26th, 2012 • Category: Toys

I was eyeing this white special edition strap from Wotancraft + Annie Barton 1972 that a seller was giving away with the purchase of his Wotancraft bag. I have a Wotancraft bag and didn’t want to buy another (I’m broke!), so I decided to just forget about the strap some time ago. Great news is that recently a friend wanted to get that bag from the seller … but the bag was already sold … but the strap was still available! So I promptly (!) contacted the seller and bought… >> read more

Baby Fisheye Meets UFO Cam

Written by • Jun 28th, 2012 • Category: Toys

Dropped by ThirtySix this afternoon to pick up a Lomography Baby Fisheye since they are having this ‘Find me baby!’ promotion going on. I went for the plastic version since there ain’t a hotshoe on the metal version to directly mount a flash. No … I don’t quite like using a sync cable and hold a flash in my other hand. Hahaha! Lazy eh?
Anyway … I managed to (easily!) spot the 3 Baby Fisheye cameras ‘hidden’ around the store and in a simple lucky draw … I won a… >> read more
