Roll The Dice

Written by • Jan 24th, 2013 • Category: Fun with film

It has been over a week since I took this shot with my SX-70 and it is only now that I remember to scan it. Maybe I’ll try take a couple more shots this weekend … scan them and try do emulsion lift before the images fade away (like my memory). The film used was a pack of Impossible Project’s PX70 Color Protection.

I walk along an empty street
I love the sounding of my feet
It makes me feel so good and though
There’s nobody else around, not a… >> read more

Drops Of Miracle

Written by • Jan 15th, 2013 • Category: Fun with film

This is a roll of Fujifilm Neopan 400 that I thought would never see the light of day. It is the 2nd test roll that I fed to the Ricoh GR21 in Japan and the roll was left in my drawer for months as I had run out of developer and just couldn’t find time to go replenish it. Last Sunday … I got a little crazy and there was this voice inside my head that told me to get the roll developed. The problem was … I still haven’t… >> read more

Instant Birthday

Written by • Jan 9th, 2013 • Category: Fun with film

It is never a good idea bringing Fitzand to the camera shops as he will make me buy him some Instax Mini film with cartoon frames. The last trip to ThirtySix with him resulted in the purchase of a few packs of those cute film but I’ve been forgetting to use them til last weekend … on his birthday. He was delighted to see me loading the pack of film after I finished a couple of remaining plain frame ones.

It is a little too early for Chinese New Year… >> read more

Belair Test Run

Written by • Dec 23rd, 2012 • Category: Fun with film

It has been weeks since my Belair Globe-trotter arrived and I finally got the test roll developed in the bathroom after dinner and scanned it. What do I think of this pretty neat looking camera? Since I don’t feel like typing much now … I generated some memes to do the explanation …… >> read more

MZ-S Roll 2 From Japan

Written by • Nov 29th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film

This is the 2nd roll I shot with the Pentax MZ-S. It is the 2nd and final roll of color (xpro-ed) film I shot before I switched to using the GR21 with black & white film. I can’t remember exactly what that roll of expired film was but ermm … nevermind.

I suspect that if I had not bought the GR21 and started doing some test shots with it … I might have ended up shooting 5 or more rolls with the MZ-S. It has become my favourite film SLR… >> read more

The MZ-S Roll From Tokyo

Written by • Nov 24th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film

Before the ‘arrival’ of the GR21 … I was planning to use only my Pentax MZ-S and a 50mm for all analogue photography. As I didn’t shoot much when I was in Yokohama (except digital ones), my fingers were given a treat when we moved to Tokyo. Many of these were taken in Disneyland as it was the first place we went to after leaving Yokohama.
This is also a roll of expired Neopan 400 that I developed in the bathroom this morning.

I made the right decision to bring… >> read more

GR21 – Test Roll 1

Written by • Nov 24th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film

Loaded a roll of expired Neopan 400 the moment I bought my GR21 in Tokyo last week. As the weather was a little cranky … one day of sun and another day of drizzle … I thought it will be good to be safe and shoot with the ISO400 film to test out the camera. Well … it was a little risk I had to take as I’d only know if the camera works fine (though it looks minty) after I get the rolls developed when I’m back here in… >> read more

Japan In Analogue (Roll 1)

Written by • Nov 22nd, 2012 • Category: Fun with film

Here’s the first roll of film from my vacation last week. I didn’t shoot many rolls as I was too busy entertaining the little one (as usual). If you have seen the video (of him) I posted … you can probably guess how busy I was … being his private videographer. Anyway … here’s a roll of long expired Sensia 400 cross processed. These were shot using my Pentax MZ-S which I lugged along … planning to buy a used lens for it … but ended up not doing so… >> read more

Exercising The GF670

Written by • Nov 7th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film

After some months of ‘rest’, my Fujifilm GF670 got to go out for some fun again. This roll of long expired Fujifilm Pro 160s had a few exposures … ermm … exposed … and I was trying to finish shooting it. I am beginning to think that I should shoot only 120 film as I have way too little time for photography nowdays.

There was a small problem with the folding mechanism some months back … but after a close inspection … apparently it was something I dropped that got… >> read more

The Last Camera : Test Roll

Written by • Oct 25th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film

If you have read my earlier blog entry about my attempt to assemble the Last Camera … you will probably know that I almost screwed up when I was working on the lens assembly. I messed up the elements and had to buzz Jimmy (from ThirtySix) to help check which was the 2nd and 3rd lenses in the package. I had to pray real hard when he told me the answer … as I was worried he might be drinking beer when he replied me.
Anyway … I was very… >> read more
