Fuzzyeyeballs

Took a short trip (but long drive) to Kuala Lumpur last Friday to visit my brother there. As usual … the one having the biggest fun will be Fitzand and was so excited to meet with his cousin sister, Zaydeen again. The kids had big fun during those few days and Fitzand was so reluctant to come back to Singapore at the end of the trip.

Took Fitzand to the Art Science Museum today for the ‘The Art Of The Brick’ and the Magnum photos showcase ‘[Outside] In’ today. We had a great time in both the exhibits! No photo taking is allowed at the Magnum showcase but I was fascinated by Jacob Aue Sobol’s work. You’ve gotta go check it out!

Following the earlier set of ‘now what?’ photos … here are more of those photos that I took … and then had to try hard to convince myself to dig them out from the SD card, look at them and try pick a few to keep. After 3 nights in Yokohama and 6 nights in Tokyo … here I am back in Singapore feeling more tired than ever. Travelling with a 5 year old who seems to be turbo charged with energy just isn’t easy. There are just so many things I wanna do after arriving back here (at 5am!!!) … sending some rolls to the lab, testing the XF 18-55 lens on my X-Pro1, self-developing a few rolls of black & white film that I used to test the GR21, finish updating my blog layout and of course getting myself some good sleep.

Very often I get bored and whip out my camera for some random shots. Then I’ll go back … look at them and go ‘now what?!’. That’s one big problem I have because I do not know what to do with many of the images I shoot. Most of them will involve landscapes though. Hahaha! Finally I’ve got internet connection (if I excluded the one I got at the pub last night)! Was putting up at a friend’s place in Yokohama and she don’t recall her Wifi password … and thus I was ‘disabled’ for a couple of days. Now that we’ve checked in at Prince Grand Resort, Hakone … a lovely hotel that we’ll be just stay for one night … I’m gonna make good use of the internet access and update my blog.

Had an awesome time at the Books & Music Week concert organized by the childcare that Fitzand attends. This is the 2nd year he is participating in it and I was impressed by the efforts the teachers put in … to train and organise the entire performance. This year … instead of various individual performances, they did a play based on the children’s book ‘The Giving Tree’. As part of the Moonfest 2012, the ‘Discovering Chinese Opera’ workshop was meant to introduce the art of Chinese opera to the young ones. It was a parent-child workshop and so after yesterday’s ‘The legend of Nezha’ performance … today I took Fitzand to the Esplanade again for the Chinese opera workshop.
