Friday Night Meat-ing

Hidden in the Mandai Orchid Garden, Singapore … the Vanilla Pod restaurant is one place we’ve always wanted to go but somehow never remember to. I’ve had breakfast there a few times when I was *ahem* into shooting macro and birds (with my now neglected DSLR). This evening, finally I brought my family there for a yummilicious dinner. The specials for the night were the lamb rack and the Yorkshire pork cutlet. Fitzand had chicken nugget with fries. Sorry for the lousy photos because lighting was super horrible and I had only my compact cam with me.

The lamb rack was nice but the Yorkshire pork cutlet was super duper yummy! Meat lovers will love them. The good news is that for those who are worried about dying from eating too much meat … there are lots of grass and plants right outside the garden for them to chew on. Muwahaha! Nah. Joking. There are other stuffs like pasta available.

Yum yum! Fitzand couldn’t wait for the spoon to arrive and decided to get a first taste of the Valrhona Molten Lava Chocolate cake. 😀

We love the food and will definitely be there again someday because it is not too far a drive from my wife’s office. The only problem is that this place is too near to the zoo and Fitzand will want us to bring him to the zoo when he sees those signboards (with animals) at the road entrance.

I’ll ‘borrow’ this entry and post 6 photos that I randomly took a couple of weeks ago while I was celebrating the Chinese New Year with my family in Malaysia …

I’ll go to bed a little bit earlier (it’s almost midnight anyway) and hope to be ‘recharged’ tomorrow for more fun during the weekends. Need to put aside a little bit of time to plan and arrange for my vacation in April with some friends because it will be a free and easy trip. Despite the fact that I hate planning for trips (I prefer the thrill of roaming the streets without knowing where I’m going), we still have to at least settle on a destination and do some scheduling.

Good night.
