Bending In Japan 2012 (Part 1)

Written by • Nov 12th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
Finally I’ve got internet connection (if I excluded the one I got at the pub last night)! Was putting up at a friend’s place in Yokohama and she don’t recall her Wifi password … and thus I was ‘disabled’ for a couple of days. Now that we’ve checked in atย Prince Grand Resort, Hakone … a lovely hotel that we’ll be just stay for one night … I’m gonna make good use of the internet access and update my blog. You might notice some layout change in my blog. I… >> read more

Edge 80 Goes Out To Play

Written by • Feb 22nd, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
Got an invitation to attend Fujifilm Singapore’s launch of the X-Pro1 camera today but I sneaked outta it when everyone were busy giving a go at the cameras. There were pretty models and cool macro stuffs for us to try the X-Pro1 on but after sneaking out to reply some urgent messages … I decided to get myself a few pints of cold beer and … whip out my DSLR & Lensbaby … with the Edge 80 optic. Yeah … I’ve got serious attitude problem. ๐Ÿ˜› Wondering what I feel… >> read more

Lensbaby Edge 80

Written by • Feb 21st, 2012 • Category: Toys
Thanks to those fun people from Lensbaby, a copy of the Edge 80 arrived at my office today. Unfortunately it was close to midnight by the time I had time for myself (and my cameras), so giving this cool lens a proper test run is not quite possible (old folks need sleep too!). Anyway … here are some photos I took of the lens coupled with my K5 … The Edge 80 Optic is an 80mm f/2.8 flat field of focus optic with a 12-blade adjustable aperture and is perfect… >> read more

Composer gone Pro!

Written by • Aug 27th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Yeah … my Lensbaby Composer has gone pro. Received the Pro version of the Composer from Lensbaby yesterday and it answered all my questions before about how different can it be from the normal version. After drawing a Hello Kitty leaving a big ‘X’ on the polling slip for the Presidential Election this morning, we went out for a great breakfast with some friends and then spent some time doing some shopping … and of course for me … some shooting! This set of candid photos above is my favourite… >> read more

Lensbaby Diary Is Back!

Written by • Jan 1st, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Two years ago I had to abandon my Lensbaby Diary (a Lensbaby photo a day project) as I just couldn’t find time to shoot every day. Well it is not too different now but since Fitzand is turning 4 next month and I’ve a bit more ‘breathing space’, I’ll give this project another go. Since today is the 1st of January 2011 … I thought why not kick off the project by photographing my favourite subject. ๐Ÿ˜€ After taking a few shots … I realised I had a problem. There… >> read more

Early X’mas Presents

Written by • Nov 27th, 2010 • Category: Toys
I remember a couple of years back, my first Christmas present for that year came early … in the form of a package from Lensbaby. This year … it is like deja vu … a juicy parcel landed at my office the day I started work after my short vacation! That made the first day at work (a little) better. ๐Ÿ˜€ Too bad it was too late for my trip, otherwise I’d have lugged my DSLR with the (Lens)babies along. Anyway … there is always a next vacation. ๐Ÿ˜€ There… >> read more

Kipon Tilt Adapter

Written by • Jul 13th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
My dream of getting a tilt-shift adapter to use on my Olympus E-P1/E-PL1 went crashing out of the window when I found out that a Japanese company/shop was coming out with one that costs about US$400. That’s a lot of money for an adapter and I gave up all hopes … until recently … somehow my itchy fingers typed ‘w … w … w … e … b … a … y … c … o … m’. Out of the blue, I was suddenly reminded of the tilt-shift adapter… >> read more

Creative Aperture : Test 1

Written by • May 31st, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
Found a couple of blank aperture discs in my drawer (for the Lensbaby) just the other day and thought it might be cool to try doing some unique ones instead of those made by using craft punchers. It can also try submitting them for the Lensbaby’s ‘Creative Aperture Kit Contest’ and try my luck there. The usual problem of not having time to go out shooting was still bugging me, so I had to try take some test shots from inside my car, at home and while waiting for wifey… >> read more

Lensbabies + K-x : A Test

Written by • May 11th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
After a short break from using my Lensbaby, finally I’ve ‘migrated’ the cool lenses to Pentax mount and since the K-x will be almost ‘permanently married’ to the Lensbabies … I had to give it a test run to figure out how the camera will meter with the lenses. Lugged the setup to Malaysia during the weekend … hoping to be able to find time to take some shots and get used to the new combo … time somehow zapped past real fast and I ended up with only a… >> read more

Got Dog, Got Lalang

Written by • Jan 1st, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
The title of this blog entry is inspired by Irorus who replied in my other entry (Fireworks : NY Eve 2010). For those who are wondering what ‘lalang’ is … they are actually those ermm … long-ish grass. Ermm … I don’t know what they’re called but ‘lalang’ is a Malay name for it. She posted that comment before I managed to post up this blog entry … and so I ‘stole’ the title from her comment. Hahaha! My favourite shot of the day. The main ‘model’ is my friend’s… >> read more
