iPhone Poison Again!

Written by • Dec 21st, 2011 • Category: Others
Let me start by saying (again) that I ain’t no Apple hater. I use an Android phone & tablet yet I am using Apple products for my desktop and notebook. The only one thing I don’t seem to wanna get from Apple is the iPhone. However … every now and then something comes along and makes me go ‘hmm … maybe I should get one!’. This is one of them … Neat stuff eh? The Gizmon iCA seems to be some attachment that turns an iPhone into ermm … a… >> read more

The Folding Gift

Written by • Nov 29th, 2011 • Category: Toys
Christmas sure came very early this year for me when a parcel from Hong Kong arrived today. It it is a Fujifilm GF670 … one of my dream camera when I was hunting for a camera that allows me to shoot 6×6, has metering & aperture priority and doesn’t weigh a ton. Best of all … this camera … is a gift … for me!!! It is not brand new but in mint condition and came with the strap and manual (Japanese). I couldn’t resist but to take some snapshots… >> read more

LomoKino : iLike!

Written by • Nov 3rd, 2011 • Category: Toys
The clues & images Lomography recently teased us with already concluded that this is gonna be one fun awesome camera and many of us could hear our wallets cry in pain. The people at ThirtySix told me they have one pre-ordered for me (WTH?!) and yet I haven’t recovered from the damage of buying the metal La Sardinas!!! Arghhh!!! Here comes LomoKino! “Create movies of 144 frames on any 35mm analogue film. Watch your developed movies with the LomoKinoScope.” Good thing is this new toy is pretty reasonably priced and… >> read more

Sinned Again

Written by • Oct 27th, 2011 • Category: Toys
I made the biggest mistake and sinned big time when I waltzed into a camera shop here in Hong Kong today. I groped the Leica X1 … I couldn’t afford it. Next I saw something with an extra zero at the back … and there stood on the shelf … a Fujifilm X10! OMG! After playing with it for a short while … I sinned. Honestly the size ain’t too much different from the X100 but the weight is sure way lighter than it’s bigger brother. The first impression when… >> read more

No Love For These

Written by • Oct 20th, 2011 • Category: Others
While I was still waiting for a good offer to buy my liver so that I could afford the 2 metal editions of the La Sardina, I thought I might have to let go my lungs too when I saw that there are 4 new special editions of the camera. Thank God these 4 designs don’t seem to tempt me much (if at all). Phew!!! Okay … I must admit the Cubic version does look pretty nice. Perhaps if the first original 4 versions (with retro looking sardines and all)… >> read more

The Aftermath

Written by • Oct 14th, 2011 • Category: Others
It has been on display at ThirtySix as part of the Impossible Lessons exhibition for almost a week already. This is the one camera I blogged about spending lots of time & effort on. After doing some pretty looking ‘dressed up’ cameras in the past, this one is a big change … as I was trying to beautify and then ‘uglify’ it. Sorry about the lousy photos of it … as I could only shoot with one hand that day. It was hours before I delivered the camera to ThirtySix… >> read more

Sardina Gone Metal!

Written by • Oct 13th, 2011 • Category: Others
As usual … Lomography started to ‘poison’ us with some ‘news’ about getting all excited about new ‘toys’ that they were launching. I was praying it would be just some new flash or film … but tragedy struck when I saw that they’ve launched two new metal editions of the La Sardina camera! To make things worse … they seem to look really pretty! Maybe I should tell wifey that I am gonna invest in gold and call up ThirtySix to order two of these metal guys. Hmm … The… >> read more

As part of the Impossible Lessons : A Spectra Special exhibition/project by ThirtySix, not only an experimental work of mine will be exhibited (17th – 23rd October 2011) but from next Monday (10th October) … a specially designed camera that I have spent lots of efforts on will be exhibited at ThirtySix. For those who do not already know, ThirtySix is the first toy camera boutique in Singapore, dedicating to spread the love of experimental photography and cultivate the art of visual expression. It is located at 91 Bencoolen Street… >> read more

Bagged Another Bag!

Written by • Sep 12th, 2011 • Category: Toys
I remember blogging about how I’ll stay away from buying another camera bag not too long ago but … well … ermm … sometimes I just can’t resist temptations. My camera bag count is hitting way above wifey’s number of bags and I probably have to find a way to properly store them instead of scattering them all over my study room (and a couple of them in the living room). This one from Wotancraft arrived today in a big box. It smells weird. It smells like it has been… >> read more

Pentax I-10 Trial Run

Written by • Sep 11th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
After watching a fun Disney Music Festival event late this morning, we spent some hours slacking at Marina Bay Sands and since we had some time to kill, I whipped out the Pentax I-10 that I bought Fitzand recently for some test shots. These are some test shots done using the Pentax I-10. I was pretty impressed with what this little cute sexy point-n-shoot camera can produce! As a matter of fact, after using it for while … I beginning to love it more and feeling reluctant to let Fitzand… >> read more
