Plus A Doggie

Written by • Jan 7th, 2013 • Category: Toys

Put the finishing touch to the Nano blocks digital camera yesterday and it should now be sitting comfortably somewhere in a friend’s place. I was hunting for a nice display box for it but somehow most were either too big or simply unsuitable. Then I suddenly remembered having this display box that I bought from Ikea … many many years ago.

The box didn’t really fit too nicely because the camera was a little too big but luckily I was able to tape up the back with the camera nicely… >> read more

Had a super wonderful beer session last night on New Year eve … slept about 4am and got kicked outta bed at around 730am. A few rounds of espresso today didn’t help much but since it is a public holiday today … I’ll just go into overdrive mode and try get some stuffs done.

Wish everyone a wonderful new year and may tons of fun and happiness decorate our lives! Cheers!
While we were out shopping a couple of days ago … I picked up 3 packs of those Nano… >> read more

Nano Block Toy Camera

Written by • Dec 27th, 2012 • Category: Toys

I couldn’t find any of these cute little Nano Block cameras in Tokyo when I was there not too long ago and as I was slowly forgetting about it … those (grrr!!!) lovely guys from ThirtySix started carrying this product! They come in red, yellow, white, black and blue and since I was picking an extra set up for a buddy … I went for two sets … a red and a yellow.

Candy colored packaging. Yummy!

It comes with a small pack of extra blocks for you to have… >> read more

X-Pro1 Uglified

Written by • Oct 27th, 2012 • Category: Toys

Before you start reading or looking at the images below … please note that I am perfectly fine and my mental state is (maybe) in the ‘normal’ position.
After I recently ‘blacked out’ all the white prints/text on my X-Pro1 … I decided to uglify it. Yeah … give it a ‘been through hell’ kind of look. With a little help from Mr Sandpaper … now it sure looks like it has been through some hell.

No … I didn’t drag it for a mile or two. I just gave… >> read more

Test Driving The RX100

Written by • Sep 30th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs

Left without a compact digital camera (no … the Leica X1 doesn’t fit into my pockets!) for some time, I got a little ‘poisoned’ when a good friend was trying to CONvince me to buy his Sony DSC-RX100 as he is moving to *evil grin* the Fujifilm X-Pro1. After reading some many good reviews about this compact camera … pretty much convinced that it performs darn well for a compact camera … I met up with him over beer recently.

My first impression of the RX100 … light and so… >> read more

Paint, Pancakes, Pain

Keeping my promise to give Fitzand’s bedroom a makeover … I had a little discussion with him and we decided on a Power Rangers themed room since he’s a big fan of those strange heroes in colorful tight clothings who can create explosions behind them just by posing.
What I didn’t realise … having to remove the hundreds of stickers on all 3 walls … was a nightmare! That wasn’t actually the biggest (and painful) part. There were a lot of double sided tapes that seemed to be of industrial strength… >> read more

Sunny Rehab 2012

Written by • Aug 29th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs

The last time I joined the Sunny Rehab organized by ThirtySix was in 2010. Did I miss the one in 2011 or did they not organize one? Anyway … after Fitzand’s music lesson in the morning last Sunday … I brought him & his mommy to Bollywood Veggies to meet the many photography (film/Lomo/whatever!) fans there. They chartered a bus to bring them to few places planned for the day and since we were late … we had to skip the goat farm and started our fun at the vegetable… >> read more

The Few Shots

Written by • Aug 10th, 2012 • Category: Lead Story

Before I go take a rest after a super long (and tiring) day … here are the only few digital shots I took today. I know many of us here in Singapore have grown super tired looking at photos from the Gardens By The Bay but ermm … here are the few from me. I do have a few fireworks shots taken during the National Day celebration last night (from my window) but I ain’t gonna bore you guys by posting them.

Hey I’ve got a starburst!!!!

Ermmm my one… >> read more

X1 : The Test Run

Written by • Jun 10th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs

A week since the X1 got discharged from the ‘hospital’, today is the first time I got to really give it a test run. Like any other weekend of mine (these days) … getting to spend time with my camera alone is usually not possible … and so I took some test shots with the Leica X1 when out with my family today. Apart from these digital shots … I also (finally) managed to finish a roll of film in my La Sardina. Time to make a dash to the… >> read more

X100 Minus 00

Written by • Jun 5th, 2012 • Category: Toys

Yup … Take away the ’00′ from the X100 and now it is X1. The Leica X1! Traded my Fujifilm X100 with a friend’s very minty condition X1 … just to have a feel of it (despite knowing the slower AF and lack of video function). It has been years since I’ve used a Leica digital camera. The last one was the Digilux 2 which I love and it was a great cam in those old days.

Found a matching 2nd hand hand half case at a great price and… >> read more
