The MZ-S Roll From Tokyo

Written by • Nov 24th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
Before the ‘arrival’ of the GR21 … I was planning to use only my Pentax MZ-S and a 50mm for all analogue photography. As I didn’t shoot much when I was in Yokohama (except digital ones), my fingers were given a treat when we moved to Tokyo. Many of these were taken in Disneyland as it was the first place we went to after leaving Yokohama. This is also a roll of expired Neopan 400 that I developed in the bathroom this morning. I made the right decision to bring… >> read more

Japan In Analogue (Roll 1)

Here’s the first roll of film from my vacation last week. I didn’t shoot many rolls as I was too busy entertaining the little one (as usual). If you have seen the video (of him) I posted … you can probably guess how busy I was … being his private videographer. Anyway … here’s a roll of long expired Sensia 400 cross processed. These were shot using my Pentax MZ-S which I lugged along … planning to buy a used lens for it … but ended up not doing so… >> read more

Hong Kong Trip : Part 1

Checking out of Disneyland Hotel in 2 hours and we’ll be heading to Tsim Tsa Tsui where we’ll spend the rest of our week-long vacation. The last 2 days were spent in Disneyland Park and there’s no prize for guessing who had the biggest fun there. 😀 Honestly … if not because of wanting Fitzand to have big fun … we probably had left the place in half a day. Don’t get me wrong … I’m a big fan of Disneyland but for those who has been to this one… >> read more

Lonely No More

Ever since I found that pancake lens to use on my Nikon FA … I find myself not wanting to remove it (from the body) and thus my 50mm lens got neglected for a while. I took pity on it and managed to find a good condition black Nikon F3 to ‘accompany’ the poor lonely lens and I really love the combo! The moment I held that F3 in my hands … I could feel that it is solid like a tank! Cool! A little heavy but might be handy… >> read more

Redscaling In Disney

Written by • May 20th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
I somehow suspect the metering on my LC-A+ is a little crazy now … after the couple of rolls screwed up during my doubles exchange with Fabienne from France. That was because I underexposed my rolls and they ended up darker than they should be and almost all my exposures were not visible. I forgot about that matter when I loaded a roll of redscale film into my LC-A+ during my Tokyo trip recently. Gosh. I was a little worried when I remembered that I didn’t do any compensation (of… >> read more

LC-A+ In Japan (Roll 2)

After scanning the roll of Sensia last week, I just couldn’t find enough time to get the images outta the 2nd roll. This second roll is another roll of randoms but this time … using Fujichrome MS 100/1000. It has become one of my favourite film for cross processing and I simply love the different colors it produces under different lighting. Some of these were taken indoors at the mall near the hotel in Disney … and look how steady my hand was! Hahaha! Yeah … I didn’t touch beer… >> read more

Kids R Fun : Harinezumi 2

Written by • May 12th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
Traveled up to Malaysia to visit my folks last weekend and my brother (from Kuala Lumpur) was also there with his little girl, Zaydeen. Fitzand was thrilled to meet his ‘partner in crime’ again and they turned my folks home upside down with their funny and noisy tricks. We dragged my brother and Zaydeen along when we visited our in-laws whose home is about 30 minutes from town and boy … the two kiddos had a fun time there feeding chickens, eating durians and lurking under the trees. I had… >> read more

Disneyland Video : Test

Written by • May 3rd, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
Since I had the newly acquired K-x with me in Tokyo, I wanted to try shooting some video clips with it. Using the kit lens, I happily switched the cam to video mode but later realised I was struggling to get things right. First was the focusing. I later realised that maybe I should be using it in AF-C mode because focusing was going all crazy with those stuffs in the parade moving in and out. The other thing is the exposure. I ain’t sure how to actually make it… >> read more

Tokyo 2010 : Analogues 1

While I was busy with Fitzand … I somehow was able to squeeze out a few rolls out from my LC-A+. This one is a roll of Sensia III (ISO100) that I bought when I was out shopping with Mijonju. Well I can’t remember if I’ve used Sensia before … so I bought 2 rolls of these to try them out. Got them cross processed and the colors looks pretty neat! Indoor shots seem to have a warmer red color while the outdoor ones look like the usual Sensia colors… >> read more

Striking A Pose In Tokyo

Written by • Apr 28th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
Leaving Tokyo tomorrow and just crawled back from Disneyland with two wobbly legs. Two days there seemed to have put me through a month of workout … but it is all worth it when I see Fitzand having fun. It was drizzling this morning when we arrived at the park … so we decided to take it easy and slack for a while before bringing the little one for his favourite rides and stuffs. I asked if he’d like to take photos and he went ‘Yes!’. So I handed him… >> read more
