Not Very Double Doubles

Written by • Apr 6th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
Following the previous collaboration with Fabienne (France), she sent me some scans of a roll I sent her some time ago. Unfortunately most of my exposures were a little (or too much) underexposed and so you get to see more scenes from Southern France (Fab … did I get the location right?) instead. I’m working on some rolls for another doubles collaboration with her … this time it will be a little crazy because I’m gonna try out some new ‘tricks’ that I’m not sure if will work. 😀… >> read more

Time For Celebrations

Written by • Feb 7th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
The Chinese New Year is about a week away and while I usually don’t bother much about any preparation (except for packing my bags to travel to Malaysia to celebrate with my folks) … this year I’m putting a bit of effort to get some stuffs done before I leave for Malaysia come next weekend. The childcare Fitzand is attending will be having a small ‘celebration’ for the kids and the kids are supposed to be dressed up for the ‘party’ in those ermmm … what do you call those?… >> read more

Festive Doubles

Written by • Nov 22nd, 2009 • Category: Fun with film
Lomography contacted me recently … asking if I could so a ‘tipster’ thingie for their festive newsletter. Well … originally I agreed to perhaps do something like a ’36 frames’ tipster entry but gave up after a while. I just couldn’t find time to really shoot 36 themes. So I had to work on another idea and one evening while sitting in front of my computer munching chips … I thought of this. I’ll maybe post more about how I did these (though it probably ain’t hard to figure it… >> read more

Solaris Sunday

Written by • Nov 8th, 2009 • Category: Fun with film
Some of you might wonder what on earth happened to me because I’ve not been touching film for a couple of weeks already. Well I did shoot a couple of rolls but they were all for double exposure collaborations which I’ve yet to send to my partners … so you have not been seeing any film shots lately. Today I decided to take a short break in the afternoon and joined a friend for a short walk around Club St for some fun. These were shot using a roll of… >> read more

Digital Inside : Doubles

Written by • Sep 30th, 2009 • Category: Fun with film
Left fermenting in my camera for too long, this roll of long expired 24 exposure Solaris film finally get to see the light of day. It took me a while to recall that one particular day when it was raining and I was stuck at home on a weekend … I was cleaning my desk (at home) when I came across a broken old digital camera. I ripped it apart some time ago to check out the ‘internals’ and suddenly a crazy thought of photographing it ran (or crawled) through… >> read more

Japan + Singapore = Chaos

Written by • Sep 29th, 2009 • Category: Fun with film
It really took me way too long to finish this roll of Sensia 100 that was sent to me all the way from Japan. It was for a doubles collaboration with Michel Jones (mijonju) but life has been so busy that I neglected it. Haha. To be honest … I’ve yet to even send him my rolls! Argh! Anyway … back to this roll. It was only after I received it that we realised that he forgot to mark on the film on where the first frame is. Uh oh!… >> read more

Pop & Stars

Written by • Aug 2nd, 2009 • Category: Fun with film
Woke up this morning and was greeted by a SMS from Jimmy (of 8storeytree.com) telling me that I’ve won a POP9 camera in the Lomography + Jones Soda Competition – Pop 09 contest (week 3)! Yay!!! I’ve always wanted to own one of these cameras but somehow I managed to put off buying it for years already. Someone once gave me a ‘almost-dead’ one and I ‘dressed it up’ (check it out here) but too bad the flash is spoilt and the cover comes apart too easily. I must thank… >> read more

SG X US : Pt 2

Written by • Apr 23rd, 2009 • Category: Fun with film
The first outta three rolls that I sent fuzztone04 (Matt Hannon from the US) for a doubles collaboration. This is a roll of expired Ektachrome and if I am not wrong … he also shot this using a LC-A. It has always been fun doing such collaborations but due to my super busy life … it always takes me weeks and weeks to finish a roll. Do also check out the rolls he sent me here. Can’t wait to see how the other 2 rolls are gonna turn out.… >> read more

Lubitel Randoms

Here are the photos from the 2nd roll on the Lubitel 166+ last weekend. Nothing fancy, just some test shots to make sure the camera is in good health. I’m begining to love using that plasticky TLR more and I’m even considering bringing it for my short vacation this month end. Hmm. But then it might be a bit too bulky and troublesome. It’s Thursday night and I can’t wait for tomorrow to pass quickly so I can embrace the weekend again with open arms. Hehehe. It’s gonna be another… >> read more

2 X 2 : SG X US

Written by • Feb 13th, 2009 • Category: Fun with film
Took me quite a while to finally finish these 2 rolls of doubles with fuzztone04 (Matt Hannon from the US). Out of the 2 rolls, fortunately some of the shots turned out satisfactory (to me!) because there were quite many that were way overexposed. Mad overlapping of frames was a problem during scanning, so since I’m on half day leave today … I decided to finish scanning them. I can’t remember which camera he was using but he did say that he didn’t mark the begining of the first frame… >> read more
