Pentax MZ-S + Solaris 200

Written by • Oct 2nd, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
This test roll took a bit longer than expected to complete. A roll of long expired Solaris 200 was used to test the Pentax MZ-S I bought some weeks ago … paired with an old Pentax F 50mm f1.7 lens. This has been the SLR I’ve long wanted and eventually I gave up on the search for an affordable silver one and settled for a black version. The autofocus makes it easier for my old eyes but I tend to get too trigger happy when things get too easy. LOL.… >> read more

When Fingers Itch

Written by • Sep 6th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Another busy weekend just zapped past and here are some pano shots I took with the ETRsi and a roll of Lomography Xpro 200 film … just to cure my itchy fingers for the last 2 days. I wasted a frame (that’s a long one!) or two when I accidentally pressed the shutter button. Gosh. I need to shoot more to prevent my itchy finger from auto triggering the shutter as and when it likes. 🙁 * click on these pics for larger versions Some of these were pretty much… >> read more

12 Frames Here & There

Something shocking happened during my trip to Taiwan recently. I opened up my camera bag … removed the back from my Diana F+ and … OMG!!! I forgot to bring along an empty 120 spool and also the bottom plate that holds the roll of film in place! I removed it to install the instant back some time ago but forgot to place it back! Oh no! For a second my plan to fire at least a roll with the camera went up in smoke. A few seconds later I… >> read more

Rocketing In Taiwan : 2

The last roll from the Sprocket Rocket for the trip. As the weather/lighting was pretty crazy/bad, loading a roll of Lomo Xpro 200 slides on the Rocket was a little risky. Fortunately we were in Taichung during that time and the sun was (a little bit) more ‘helpful’. Still there were some ‘forced doubles’ due to bad lighting. Glad most of the shots turned out fine. 😀 I kinda like the doubles in this roll! Fitzand posing with his new soft toy and train … After finish scanning this roll… >> read more

Rocketing In Taiwan : 1

The Lomography’s latest ‘toy’ … the Sprocket Rocket wasn’t one of the product that made me super excited nor did I rush to grab one. Our friendly (not very pocket-friendly though) people from ThirtySix buzzed me and told me that they reserved one for me (!!!) and stocks were in … the week before I flew off to Taiwan for my vacation. So I dropped by the shop, picked up the Sprocket Rocket (darn long name and I’ll just call it Rocket from now on) and decided to bring it… >> read more

The Getaway : The Lomo

No getaway is complete without lugging along an analogue cam. The LC-A+ plus a roll of Lomo Xpro 200 slides were my snapshot buddies during last weekend’s visit to the Universal Studios and here are some random cross-processed shots … This is the first time I’m trying this xpro film and I was expecting lots of yellow and green from it. Surprisingly some of the shots turned out with some other colors still ‘intact’. I kinda realise that my LC-A+ now acts a little weird. Exposures are like all over.… >> read more

Fishie Fitzand 2

Written by • Mar 2nd, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
Here are the rest of the photos from that roll in the Fisheye2 that Fitzand shot. Not all are self portraits by him though. There are a few of them that I took … and some went into the trash bin because of under exposure. Haiks. Guess I’ll try faster film next time. The ringflash is kinda weak and works well only from quite a close distance (partly due to the color gels). My cam was dripping water when I took this. He was playing at the fountain and started… >> read more

Solaris Sunday

Some of you might wonder what on earth happened to me because I’ve not been touching film for a couple of weeks already. Well I did shoot a couple of rolls but they were all for double exposure collaborations which I’ve yet to send to my partners … so you have not been seeing any film shots lately. Today I decided to take a short break in the afternoon and joined a friend for a short walk around Club St for some fun. These were shot using a roll of… >> read more
