One Roll, Three Countries

Written by • May 1st, 2013 • Category: Fun with film
The title of this entry (One Roll, Three Countries) may sound like some cool project I did but honestly … it is just a simple title to describe this roll of Neopan 400 loaded into my GR21 when I was in Japan early this year. As I have been struck by some strange illness called ‘no-mood-to-shoot’ (which is slowly recovering), I took only a handful of shots during that trip and then despite my desperate attempt to finish the 36 frames here in Singapore later … it still ended up… >> read more

Korea 2013 In Analogue

Despite my attempt to shoot more rolls of film this trip,  I ended up coming back with only a couple of rolls. This first roll is a Lomography Tunsten 64 cross processed and shot using my precious Ricoh GR21. To be honest … I am trying hard to get back my trigger happy ways. I had my LC-A+ with me but it saw only a handful of exposures before going back into my bag. I think I might have just picked the right film to load … as the cherry… >> read more

Drops Of Miracle

This is a roll of Fujifilm Neopan 400 that I thought would never see the light of day. It is the 2nd test roll that I fed to the Ricoh GR21 in Japan and the roll was left in my drawer for months as I had run out of developer and just couldn’t find time to go replenish it. Last Sunday … I got a little crazy and there was this voice inside my head that told me to get the roll developed. The problem was … I still haven’t… >> read more

GR21 – Test Roll 1

Written by • Nov 24th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
Loaded a roll of expired Neopan 400 the moment I bought my GR21 in Tokyo last week. As the weather was a little cranky … one day of sun and another day of drizzle … I thought it will be good to be safe and shoot with the ISO400 film to test out the camera. Well … it was a little risk I had to take as I’d only know if the camera works fine (though it looks minty) after I get the rolls developed when I’m back here in… >> read more

The Damages

We decided to skip the trip to the Bandai museum as I read that it only opens to pubic on weekends and Fitzand is only interested to check out the Power Rangers stuffs. As an alternative, we brought him to Hakuhinkan Toy Park near Ginza … one of the largest and best toy stores here in Tokyo. As expected … he was complaining about the long walk and train rides but this time a lot less because I promised to buy him toys. 😀 He saw many of his favourite… >> read more

Bring On The Blues!

Written by • Nov 28th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
This is definitely not the first time I’m screwing up a roll of redscale film … just because I forgot to compensate the exposure while shooting. The entire roll looks pretty underexposed and scanning the first few frames got me all down. The photos were like all grainy … lots of weird blue ‘dots’ … and a couple of long blue streaks (scratched?) all over some of them. I thought I might as well send the film strips straight to the garbage bin but some crazy idea came knocking on… >> read more

Oh Phew!!!

Phew!!!! It is Friday night and this must be one of the happiest one in quite a long time. Finally I can take a week off from work and go for a short trip … away from the crazy stack of work that is after me. I’ve yet to pack my stuffs but luckily I still have tomorrow to do so. Guess I’ll have a hard time deciding which camme to bring along because travelling with an active boy on a free & easy trip … isn’t that all easy.… >> read more

Making Diana’s Butts

Pretty often I get asked this question … “How did you ‘dress up’ the cameras? Any instruction? Any video?”. My answer is usually “I don’t know how to really explain how it is done but you just need patience (a lot of it!) and some concentration to get things done nicely. As for the video … ermmm … no … I don’t have one. Sorry.” So since I was doing up that Diana+ camera recently (check it out here), I decided to try shoot some photos of how I was… >> read more

The Pocket Cam

Compact cameras like the Natura Classica ain’t exactly compact to me. That’s because they won’t fit into my pocket (although empty 🙁 ) easily. Some months ago I picked up an used GR10 that was in minty condition for slightly less than S$200 and decided to use that as my everyday camera that I can bring around … and be my workhorse. I know there are some yummier alternatives like the GR21 (damn … I saw someone selling one lately) or the GR1v … but I need something cheap, something… >> read more

4 Seconds Etc.

Plans to go the park today had to be changed because after a short baking lesson (for Fitzand at the childcare), we were all too tired to go out. So we slacked at home, had some fun playing and then I looked outside and saw what great weather it was for photography! Oh no! I didn’t wanna leave home for some photos and so decided to whip out my GRD III for some time lapse photography from my window. Well … this is the 1st time I’m trying to do… >> read more
