Edge 80 Goes Out To Play

Written by • Feb 22nd, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
Got an invitation to attend Fujifilm Singapore’s launch of the X-Pro1 camera today but I sneaked outta it when everyone were busy giving a go at the cameras. There were pretty models and cool macro stuffs for us to try the X-Pro1 on but after sneaking out to reply some urgent messages … I decided to get myself a few pints of cold beer and … whip out my DSLR & Lensbaby … with the Edge 80 optic. Yeah … I’ve got serious attitude problem. 😛 Wondering what I feel… >> read more

LomoKino : First Look

Written by • Nov 8th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Burned two rolls of film on my LomoKino today (too excited to try it!) and finally I have my first LomoKino movie to share. I’ll upload the other one in a day or two. As I didn’t really read the details/specifications of the LomoKino … I was a little surprised how fast you can actually burn a roll! Yeah … probably in like 30 seconds or so if you continue shooting. Ouch! Guess I’ll go hunt for some cheap expired film to play then! I forgot to bring along some… >> read more

No Love For These

While I was still waiting for a good offer to buy my liver so that I could afford the 2 metal editions of the La Sardina, I thought I might have to let go my lungs too when I saw that there are 4 new special editions of the camera. Thank God these 4 designs don’t seem to tempt me much (if at all). Phew!!! Okay … I must admit the Cubic version does look pretty nice. Perhaps if the first original 4 versions (with retro looking sardines and all)… >> read more

Sardina Gone Metal!

Written by • Oct 13th, 2011 • Category: Others
As usual … Lomography started to ‘poison’ us with some ‘news’ about getting all excited about new ‘toys’ that they were launching. I was praying it would be just some new flash or film … but tragedy struck when I saw that they’ve launched two new metal editions of the La Sardina camera! To make things worse … they seem to look really pretty! Maybe I should tell wifey that I am gonna invest in gold and call up ThirtySix to order two of these metal guys. Hmm … The… >> read more

3 New Girls!

Written by • Oct 3rd, 2011 • Category: Toys
It has been a while since I’ve added any new ‘girls’ to my family of Diana F+ clones … and recently three of them were ‘born’. The yellow ‘Buttercup’ and the blue ‘True Blue’ are the latest ones from Lomography and were available at ThirtySix the minute they were launched. Picked them both up this afternoon while I was there submitting a DVD of photos. The third one … the ‘Daybreak’ is another Urban Outfitters exclusive edition. It actually arrived some weeks back but I was so busy that I… >> read more

Park, Snow, Leather

Written by • Jul 24th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
There is never enough time to do everything that I want … especially on weekends. Finding time to spend with my cameras is always the biggest challenge and this weekend is no exception. I desperately took a short walk in the almost completed Bishan park (the upgrade seems to take ages!) alone and managed to cure (a little) my trigger happy habit. These are two shots taken with an old infrared converted camera. I’ve always like my IR images in black & white instead of the colored versions. Many parts… >> read more

LC-W Going All Over

Written by • Jul 11th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
This must be one of my ‘best travelled’ roll of film. Loaded in my LC-Wide … this 24 exposure roll of Sensia 400 followed me to Malaysia, went on a short shooting trip with me (and cyanwater) to Kampung Buangkok, accompanied me on a beer cum shooting session with Jimmy and then finally to an early dinner at Bottle Tree Village. Amazing how I can make 24 exposures last that long! Honestly … it was because I usually have more than one camera with me and couldn’t concentrate on finishing… >> read more

Stacked!

Written by • Jun 12th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Met up with Jimmy & Noreen for an early dinner today. Came across this place called ‘Stacked’ at Robertson Quay in some online article and thought it will be cool to munch some dim-sum and wash them down with some icy cold beer on a (very depressing since Monday is coming) Sunday. The place is pretty simple and neat but unfortunately the tables inside were occupied and we had to make do with one outside … and there wasn’t any fan there. Hot!!!! Warm!!! It got better later when it… >> read more

To The Museum And More

Written by • May 30th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
After last night’s ‘dramatic’ trip to the Boat Quay area for some (most likely gone case) night shots … I was back there again today but this time … in the late morning with my family. We brought Fitzand to check out the ‘Little Explorer’s Travels‘ event at the Asians Civilisations Museum and although he wasn’t that ‘impressed’ with some of the old stuffs on display (he kept telling us ‘spooky!’ when he saw some of those exhibits like the rather scary looking colorful Chinese … ermmm … puppets/statues. 😀… >> read more

Planes, Sun, Fun!

Written by • May 26th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Taking a break from the madness of work, I took a day off and told Fitzand’s teachers that I’ll be bringing him out for some ‘fun’ today. We joined Jimmy & Noreen for a trip to the RSAF (Republic of Singapore Air Force) Open Day preview today and as expected … it was a hot (darn hot!) morning and we were rushing to the air-conditioned exhibition areas upon arrival. Of course after a short while, we braved the heat and headed to the air show display as well as some… >> read more
