Working Out The DSLR

Written by • Jan 29th, 2013 • Category: Lead Story
My DSLR is probably the most neglected camera in my cabinet and thus I told myself that I should give it some workout yesterday when I brought Fitzand out for some outdoor fun. The weather wasn’t too friendly and we were at the Punggol Waterfront pretty early … at about 230pm. Still we had fun and my old trigger happy habit kicked in and I ended up with tons of photos (of Fitzand).   It almost ended up in a disaster because I forgot to insert a SD card into the… >> read more

Photographer With Attitude

Written by • Jul 30th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
Minutes to midnight on a Sunday night. Hours from another hell-ish day at work! I’ll try not to think that far ahead and update my blog with a short entry. I’ve only some digital snapshots to post as I only managed to fire 20 exposures in a roll of negatives loaded in my Nikon F3. That means 16 more to go … perhaps next weekend. Was out doing some shopping and after an awesome dinner at a Korean restaurant, we picked up a present for a Fitzand’s classmate who will… >> read more

Sunny Sunday At The Park

Written by • Jul 17th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
After playing ‘tour guide’ to 2 friends from Malaysia yesterday, I spent Sunday bringing Fitzand for his music lesson … went down to IKEA to get a bigger table for his drawing and painting sessions (he loves them!) and then off to Bishan park for some … no … not beer but some running (and crawling for me) playing frisbee. I took a very short break from too many taking photos of him in case he gets camera-phobia … hahahahah! Anyway … I’m back to haunt him with my cams!… >> read more

Planes, Sun, Fun!

Written by • May 26th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Taking a break from the madness of work, I took a day off and told Fitzand’s teachers that I’ll be bringing him out for some ‘fun’ today. We joined Jimmy & Noreen for a trip to the RSAF (Republic of Singapore Air Force) Open Day preview today and as expected … it was a hot (darn hot!) morning and we were rushing to the air-conditioned exhibition areas upon arrival. Of course after a short while, we braved the heat and headed to the air show display as well as some… >> read more

4 Days Of Fun

Written by • May 2nd, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Since it was a long weekend, I took an additional day off and brought my family for a short stay in Sentosa as we thought flying off for a vacation is a bit too rush (wifey can’t take too many days off). So it was 4 days of fun … doing practically nothing but eating, drinking (yeah!), sleeping and spending lots (and lots) of time on the beach and in the pool. Of course the one who had the most fun was Fitzand who made me play with him in… >> read more

Doubles, Doubles On The Wall

Written by • Apr 26th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Probably the roll that was left fermenting for the longest time in my LC-A+. It was a roll I prepared for a double exposure … probably end of last year and then couldn’t find time to finish shooting it until now. It is pretty fun looking at the photos and go ‘Whoa! That was taken sometime in February this year!’. Here are the messy (I love mess!) photos … This one below was taken at the 2011 Chingay parade rehearsal. Oh man … how time flies! The first exposure in… >> read more

Sweaty Pinhole Day

Written by • Apr 24th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Joined some friends from LomotionSG for a World Pinhole Day outing to the zoo today and after being kicked outta bed by Fitzand at around 7am … it was a really tiring outing. To make things worse … weather was ultra hot and wifey was complaining about being hot and tired. Baaaah!!! Luckily I still managed to finish a roll of 120 on the Multi Pinhole Operator but I ain’t sure if anything is gonna come outta it. We’ll see tomorrow when I make a trip to the lab. Anyway… >> read more

Double Processed Rocket

Written by • Mar 2nd, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Something pretty funny (and scary) happened at the photo lab today when I dropped by to collect a roll of Provia 400X shot with my Sprocket Rocket recently. I usually lurk outside the lab until the boss gives me the thumbs up … then I’ll crawl in only when the processing is ready. Today … while I was having a puff outside the lab … the boss appeared suddenly with a small pail … and in it was a the entire roll of developed negatives (the one I sent it!).… >> read more

Almost A No Coffee Day

Written by • Feb 19th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Fitzand made a ‘special request’ to go feed fishes at the Botanical Gardens and so we brought him for a picnic there this morning. It has been a few months since we last went for a picnic … so happily we arrived there around 930am. We packed up some drinks and munchies and thought we could grab our breakfast (and my coffee!!!) at the food court there … BUT … BUT … it has ceased operation! Darn it! So without coffee (the ultimate sin!) for the morning … we spent… >> read more

Rocketing In Taiwan : 2

Written by • Nov 28th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
The last roll from the Sprocket Rocket for the trip. As the weather/lighting was pretty crazy/bad, loading a roll of Lomo Xpro 200 slides on the Rocket was a little risky. Fortunately we were in Taichung during that time and the sun was (a little bit) more ‘helpful’. Still there were some ‘forced doubles’ due to bad lighting. Glad most of the shots turned out fine. 😀 I kinda like the doubles in this roll! Fitzand posing with his new soft toy and train … After finish scanning this roll… >> read more
