Loving Sunshine

Written by • Feb 17th, 2013 • Category: Lead Story
It has been a while since I’ve updated my blog and since Fitzand went to bed very early today (2 sessions of skating lessons did the trick!) … I dug out few photos I took some weeks back (before the Lunar New Year) from my window … of the sunset. I’m one who prefers the sunrise (despite the crazy pain of waking up real early) but it doesn’t matter … it is still the same sun that’s gonna rise the next morning. These were shot using my Fujifilm XS-1. Although… >> read more

Got Dog, Got Lalang

Written by • Jan 1st, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
The title of this blog entry is inspired by Irorus who replied in my other entry (Fireworks : NY Eve 2010). For those who are wondering what ‘lalang’ is … they are actually those ermm … long-ish grass. Ermm … I don’t know what they’re called but ‘lalang’ is a Malay name for it. She posted that comment before I managed to post up this blog entry … and so I ‘stole’ the title from her comment. Hahaha! My favourite shot of the day. The main ‘model’ is my friend’s… >> read more

Twenty Ten Arrives

Written by • Dec 31st, 2009 • Category: Others
Just hours before the year 2010 come knocking at our doors and force itself into our lives. Hmm. Wait. That doesn’t sound very right. Let me rephrase it … It is just hours before we welcome a brand new year … blah blah blah … Wait. That sounds too boring. Let me … nevermind. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!!! Hahahaha! This will be my last post for the year 2009 and since I don’t wanna repeat what I wrote in my Christmas wishes entry … I’ll just wish everyone an incredible… >> read more

Morning Test Video

Written by • Nov 25th, 2009 • Category: Others
Took the opportunity to try shooting a super short video clip when I was testing out the E-P1 + Pentax 25mm f1.4 lens while I was at the Merlion Park for the sunrise shoot. My hands were ultra-shaky probably due to lack of sleep, so I mounted the camera on my crappy tripod and tried ‘panning’ it with the tripod’s center column. Too bad the movement wasn’t very smooth and resulted in slight jerks in some parts of the video. It was tough trying to turn the camera but holding… >> read more

Ugly Lens, Ugly Food

Written by • Nov 23rd, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
I was out early in the morning on Saturday to view/shoot the sunrise again. This time we decided to park out butts at the Merlion Park instead of the usual sunrise shoots at the beach. That morning I didn’t really shoot much but spent more time slacking and testing out this lens that I bought used recently. It is a very funny and weird looking little lens for my Olympus E-P1. This Pentax 25mm f1.4 lens is a manual focus lens that produces photos that are pretty sharp in the… >> read more

Morning Harinezumi

Written by • Sep 19th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
Woke up at 5am to help out a friend in a morning shoot during sunrise and apart from enjoying some cold fresh morning air, coffee and laughter … I toyed with my Digital Harinezumi for a while and got a couple of shots … Fortunately I had a tripod in my car and I could shoot a little bit of video while I was busy doing the important stuffs. It’s kinda funny though. The Harinezumi is so tiny when mounted on the tripod. I didn’t want to use my little… >> read more

HD Video ~ Good Morning

Written by • Sep 9th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
* HD Video = Horrible Definition Few days after my white Digital Harinezumi arrived … I decided to wake up super early this morning before the sunrise to try video the scene outside my window. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t that good and the morning sun was as weak as I am after 3 litres of beer. Anyway … for the record … here it is … I used editing software to speed up the video or else you’ll have to sit and watch around 20 minutes of boring videos. Hahaha!… >> read more

IR After Sunrise

Written by • Jun 6th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
Right after we finished shooting the sunrise and since I had some time before rushing home to bring my family out for an outing, I decided to take some infrared photos using the recently modified Canon G6. It wasn’t that sunny yet and I had to endure slightly long exposures … but luckily my tripod was with me. I’ve mentioned that I usually prefer black & white infrared photos before but this time I decided to leave it with some colors with the usual ‘standard’ infrared post-processing method of channel… >> read more

Lensbaby Is Back!

Written by • Jun 6th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
I’ve not touched the Lensbaby since I abandoned my ‘Lensbaby Diary’ project a few months ago. It’s not like I’ve got sick of it but I wanted short break to ‘recollect myself’ and now I’m back … with the Lensbaby. To get back in steam with the Lensbaby … I woke up at 5am today and picked up a friend (and some coffee) and headed on to Punggol beach for a sunrise shoot (of course with the Lensbaby!). I must say that the sunrise this morning was beautiful. It has… >> read more
