Diana + Redscale Randoms

Written by • Jun 26th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
I’m getting closer to clearing all the partially exposed rolls of film left stuck in some cameras. This time … a roll of Lomography redscale film finally got fully exposed and it in are some random shots from Taiwan and Singapore. Well … only 2 were shot in Taiwan. 😛 I could only find time to scan 4 of them and will try stay awake tonight to finish scanning the others. Most of them seem to be a underexposed and looks very red! This one (above) was taken during a… >> read more

Diana Returns!

Written by • May 24th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
Friends found it hard to believe when I told them that I shot only about a roll of 120 on my Diana F+ and maybe 15 frames on my LC-A+ during my recent vacation to Taiwan. It is not that I wasn’t trigger happy but … the *cough cough* truth is … I was spending too much time playing with the X-Pro1. Okay … let’s not talk about the X-Pro1 for now. There were some frames left in a roll that I loaded into my Diana F+ and it was… >> read more

8 Days Of Fun

Written by • May 2nd, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
A short summary of our Taiwan trip last week. We found out about Leofoo Resort during our previous Taiwan trip a couple of years back and we knew that will be definitely a place to bring Fitzand to for a short trip. We got a room facing the area where the animals were and this is definitely a trip that Fitzand loves lots. He was complaining a lot when we left the resort for Taipei after 4 days because he wanted to stay longer. The awesome thing about this resort… >> read more

Checking Out :(

Written by • Apr 30th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
30 minutes til we check out and hop on the next flight back to Singapore. 🙁 The 8 days vacation just zapped past and it is back home … to reality! I’ll upload these photos taken on the streets of Taipei now … so that I won’t have a backlog of photos to go through when I get back home. My favorite shot (above) … the only one in color. I walked back to the scene 3 minutes after walking past to take this shot … right in front of… >> read more

Pinhole Day 2012

Written by • Apr 29th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
My last (full) day here in Taipei (well … tomorrow we’ll be flying back at 4pm) and it is World Pinhole Day … and I came prepared with the Lensbaby pinhole for some pinhole action. As expected, I can’t spend too much time shooting pinhole and let my family wait … so here are some shots I took today … I did have my Diana F+ with me but didn’t use it for shooting pinhole as it will take looooooooong exposures and I don’t have much time to spare. Luckily… >> read more

Lensbaby In Taiwan (Part I)

Written by • Apr 27th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
After some test run with the X-Pro1 … finally time to whip out my Lensbaby for some big fun! Paired the Composer Pro + Edge 80 optic with my K-01 … I sort of went trigger happy (as usual) and here are 40 of the photos … I really don’t know how to explain this … but each and every time I touch the Lensbaby … I simply go crazy! It is always big fun using the Lensbaby (any version of it) and I’ve never got bored using them. A… >> read more

X-Pro1 Streetshooting

Written by • Apr 26th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
After the infrared test … next comes something more fun (to me) … shooting on the streets with the X-Pro1. I have only the 35mm lens with me and thus it will be a little bit more challenging for me as I usually prefer wide angles for streetshooting. I switched the camera to the black & white (with red filter) film simulation mode and took some test shots while we were making a dash to a late lunch. Dialed -1 on the exposure compensation and fired away … The very… >> read more

X-Pro1 Does IR!

Written by • Apr 25th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
My third day in Taiwan and I’m beginning to love the X-Pro1 more each day. Gosh … now I’m beginning to think that I want one! Since I have a week to play with it … I brought along my Hoya R72 IR filter to test if the cammie can give good results (in IR). I saw some online photos and they claim that the X-Pro1 can do handheld IR in high ISO. Pumping ISO to either 6400 or 12,800 sometimes … it seems that the X-Pro1 is capable to… >> read more

Bye Bye Lytro

Written by • Apr 22nd, 2012 • Category: Toys
Some of you might have noticed that I picked up a Lytro light field camera recently. I actually ‘snatched’ it when I saw a 16GB version one that was 3 weeks old on sale in a local photography forum … at a very good price! After keeping it for slightly about a week plus … and a few test shots … I knew I had to say goodbye to it. No … not that it isn’t fun … but I find myself not liking the way we are suppose to… >> read more

12 Frames Here & There

Written by • Jan 7th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Something shocking happened during my trip to Taiwan recently. I opened up my camera bag … removed the back from my Diana F+ and … OMG!!! I forgot to bring along an empty 120 spool and also the bottom plate that holds the roll of film in place! I removed it to install the instant back some time ago but forgot to place it back! Oh no! For a second my plan to fire at least a roll with the camera went up in smoke. A few seconds later I… >> read more
