Few Randoms From Korea

Written by • Apr 21st, 2013 • Category: Lead Story

Eight days on a vacation in Korea … and I came back with tons of photos of Fitzand, few random shots from the streets (digital) and exposed just 2 rolls of film. Don’t ask me where did my trigger happy habit went. If you happen to see it … give me a call.
Anyway … while I am struggling to go through the tons of photos of Fitzand … here are the other random shots I took … mostly street photos that I snapped one evening when the mood came.… >> read more

Drops Of Miracle

This is a roll of Fujifilm Neopan 400 that I thought would never see the light of day. It is the 2nd test roll that I fed to the Ricoh GR21 in Japan and the roll was left in my drawer for months as I had run out of developer and just couldn’t find time to go replenish it. Last Sunday … I got a little crazy and there was this voice inside my head that told me to get the roll developed. The problem was … I still haven’t… >> read more

The ‘Now What?’ Shots

Written by • Nov 15th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs

Very often I get bored and whip out my camera for some random shots. Then I’ll go back … look at them and go ‘now what?!’. That’s one big problem I have because I do not know what to do with many of the images I shoot. Most of them will involve landscapes though. Hahaha! Since I’m killing some time now while gulping a beer in the hotel room (Fitzand has gone to bed … phew!) … I ‘forced’ myself to upload a few of these ‘now what?’ photos.

This… >> read more

8 Days Of Fun

Written by • May 2nd, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs

A short summary of our Taiwan trip last week.
We found out about Leofoo Resort during our previous Taiwan trip a couple of years back and we knew that will be definitely a place to bring Fitzand to for a short trip. We got a room facing the area where the animals were and this is definitely a trip that Fitzand loves lots. He was complaining a lot when we left the resort for Taipei after 4 days because he wanted to stay longer.

The awesome thing about this resort… >> read more

Pinhole Day 2012

Written by • Apr 29th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs

My last (full) day here in Taipei (well … tomorrow we’ll be flying back at 4pm) and it is World Pinhole Day … and I came prepared with the Lensbaby pinhole for some pinhole action. As expected, I can’t spend too much time shooting pinhole and let my family wait … so here are some shots I took today …

I did have my Diana F+ with me but didn’t use it for shooting pinhole as it will take looooooooong exposures and I don’t have much time to spare.

Luckily… >> read more

Bye Bye Lytro

Written by • Apr 22nd, 2012 • Category: Toys

Some of you might have noticed that I picked up a Lytro light field camera recently. I actually ‘snatched’ it when I saw a 16GB version one that was 3 weeks old on sale in a local photography forum … at a very good price! After keeping it for slightly about a week plus … and a few test shots … I knew I had to say goodbye to it.

No … not that it isn’t fun … but I find myself not liking the way we are suppose to… >> read more

Pretty In Pink & Purple

Written by • Nov 2nd, 2011 • Category: Fun with film

Ran over to ThirtySix a few days before my Hong Kong trip to pick up a pack of the Lomography X Tungsten 64 film … thinking I could give it a test run during the trip. Unfortunately I was too busy entertaining my little one that I hardly had the time (and mood) to shoot much. Anyway … here are the photos from the roll of Tungsten film. As per what I read & saw online … this film is pretty cool … with a little randomness when it comes… >> read more

Crossing My Path #1

Written by • Oct 26th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs

Checked into the hotel at Tsim Tsa Tsui and on the way for a late lunch … with just my X100 in hand … I shot everyone who crossed my path.

I love street photography and I’m beginning to love using the electronic viewfinder (EVF) on the X100. The wide lens is a joy to use for street photography!

I’ll probably fill up my SD card the next few days on the streets but I sure hope I can find the mood & inspiration to finish a roll of film… >> read more

Portland Vignettes

Written by • Oct 14th, 2011 • Category: Toys

I feel in love with the simple yet awesome photos she takes and posts in Facebook and when I saw that she has this lovely ‘Portland Vignettes’ book published … I didn’t think twice about ordering a copy. I got to know Keri through Lensbaby (she’s a lucky devil to work in a company making fun lenses!).
A copy of the book arrived today (I got a signed copy!) and I must say that I’m impressed!

“Keri Friedman is a photographer living in Portland, OR. By day she works for… >> read more

To The Museum And More

Written by • May 30th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs

After last night’s ‘dramatic’ trip to the Boat Quay area for some (most likely gone case) night shots … I was back there again today but this time … in the late morning with my family. We brought Fitzand to check out the ‘Little Explorer’s Travels‘ event at the Asians Civilisations Museum and although he wasn’t that ‘impressed’ with some of the old stuffs on display (he kept telling us ‘spooky!’ when he saw some of those exhibits like the rather scary looking colorful Chinese … ermmm … puppets/statues. Well… >> read more
