One Roll, Three Countries

Written by • May 1st, 2013 • Category: Fun with film

The title of this entry (One Roll, Three Countries) may sound like some cool project I did but honestly … it is just a simple title to describe this roll of Neopan 400 loaded into my GR21 when I was in Japan early this year. As I have been struck by some strange illness called ‘no-mood-to-shoot’ (which is slowly recovering), I took only a handful of shots during that trip and then despite my desperate attempt to finish the 36 frames here in Singapore later … it still ended up… >> read more

Few Randoms From Korea

Written by • Apr 21st, 2013 • Category: Lead Story

Eight days on a vacation in Korea … and I came back with tons of photos of Fitzand, few random shots from the streets (digital) and exposed just 2 rolls of film. Don’t ask me where did my trigger happy habit went. If you happen to see it … give me a call.
Anyway … while I am struggling to go through the tons of photos of Fitzand … here are the other random shots I took … mostly street photos that I snapped one evening when the mood came.… >> read more

Checking Out :(

Written by • Apr 30th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs

30 minutes til we check out and hop on the next flight back to Singapore. The 8 days vacation just zapped past and it is back home … to reality! I’ll upload these photos taken on the streets of Taipei now … so that I won’t have a backlog of photos to go through when I get back home.

My favorite shot (above) … the only one in color. I walked back to the scene 3 minutes after walking past to take this shot … right in front of them.… >> read more

Lensbaby In Taiwan (Part I)

Written by • Apr 27th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs

After some test run with the X-Pro1 … finally time to whip out my Lensbaby for some big fun! Paired the Composer Pro + Edge 80 optic with my K-01 … I sort of went trigger happy (as usual) and here are 40 of the photos …

I really don’t know how to explain this … but each and every time I touch the Lensbaby … I simply go crazy! It is always big fun using the Lensbaby (any version of it) and I’ve never got bored using them. A… >> read more

X-Pro1 Streetshooting

Written by • Apr 26th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs

After the infrared test … next comes something more fun (to me) … shooting on the streets with the X-Pro1. I have only the 35mm lens with me and thus it will be a little bit more challenging for me as I usually prefer wide angles for streetshooting.
I switched the camera to the black & white (with red filter) film simulation mode and took some test shots while we were making a dash to a late lunch. Dialed -1 on the exposure compensation and fired away …

The very… >> read more

Bye Bye Lytro

Written by • Apr 22nd, 2012 • Category: Toys

Some of you might have noticed that I picked up a Lytro light field camera recently. I actually ‘snatched’ it when I saw a 16GB version one that was 3 weeks old on sale in a local photography forum … at a very good price! After keeping it for slightly about a week plus … and a few test shots … I knew I had to say goodbye to it.

No … not that it isn’t fun … but I find myself not liking the way we are suppose to… >> read more

Crossing My Path #2

Written by • Nov 9th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs

One of my favorite past time when on vacations is to wander around on the streets taking random snapshots of people. Unlike some who prefers interacting with their subjects, I prefer my subjects ‘raw’. This means I wanna capture them in the most natural situations without them smiling for the camera. Most photos from this set were taken using the Fujifilm X10 as I was giving it a test run on the streets. I usually love getting close to the people and thus shooting wide most of the time. The… >> read more

Pretty In Pink & Purple

Ran over to ThirtySix a few days before my Hong Kong trip to pick up a pack of the Lomography X Tungsten 64 film … thinking I could give it a test run during the trip. Unfortunately I was too busy entertaining my little one that I hardly had the time (and mood) to shoot much. Anyway … here are the photos from the roll of Tungsten film. As per what I read & saw online … this film is pretty cool … with a little randomness when it comes… >> read more

From The Sky

Written by • Oct 31st, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs

I’ve never bothered to take any photo from the plane windows but yesterday on the way back to Singapore … probably somewhere near Malaysia … I decided to whip out my camera for a couple of shots as the scene made me go ‘Whoa!!!’.

For once a camera with a little bit of zoom does help. The X10!

I sure did struggle lots at work today to keep myself awake and sane but thank God I made it through. Another 4 days to go til the weekends but I don’t… >> read more

Hong Kong Trip : Part 1

Written by • Oct 26th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs

Checking out of Disneyland Hotel in 2 hours and we’ll be heading to Tsim Tsa Tsui where we’ll spend the rest of our week-long vacation. The last 2 days were spent in Disneyland Park and there’s no prize for guessing who had the biggest fun there. Honestly … if not because of wanting Fitzand to have big fun … we probably had left the place in half a day. Don’t get me wrong … I’m a big fan of Disneyland but for those who has been to this one in… >> read more
