Instant Rockin

Written by • Oct 22nd, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
I had to clear the last 7 shots left in my Instax back attached to the LC-W as I plan to bring it along (without the Instax back) to a short trip to Hong Kong tomorrow. What I forgot was … I took out the lens attachment some months back and after two shots … wondering why it was all blur (stupid me!) … I dug the lens attachment out from the drawer and managed to get slightly decent shots outta the last 4 surviving pieces of film and 1… >> read more

When Fingers Itch

Written by • Sep 6th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Another busy weekend just zapped past and here are some pano shots I took with the ETRsi and a roll of Lomography Xpro 200 film … just to cure my itchy fingers for the last 2 days. I wasted a frame (that’s a long one!) or two when I accidentally pressed the shutter button. Gosh. I need to shoot more to prevent my itchy finger from auto triggering the shutter as and when it likes. 🙁 * click on these pics for larger versions Some of these were pretty much… >> read more

ETRsi + 135W : Test 1

Written by • Aug 9th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Guess I got a little too trigger happy and ended with 3 rolls since yesterday … testing out my newly found joy … the 135W back for the Bronica ETRsi. Below are the photos from the first roll … mostly taken during a zoo trip with Fitzand yesterday. He is pretty capable in handling the scooter at the zoo now and I got to relax at the back (of course always on the alert when he starts to lose control being distracted by the animals). He will stop at almost… >> read more

Battle Of The Wides

Written by • Jul 23rd, 2011 • Category: Others
Some friends asked me about which Lomo/toy camera should they go for if they wanna shoot wide. In the past, I’d tell them to either get the LC-A+ with the wide angle lens attachment or the (way cheaper but needs lots more light and careful usage) Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim (UWS) (also rebranded as the Superheadz’s Wide Lens Camera). Now with the introduction of few newer cameras from Lomography, it is harder to answer that question (which wide angle cam to go for). We now have the LC-Wide, La… >> read more

LC-W : Streetshoot Tests

Written by • Jun 22nd, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Gave the LC-W a test run on the streets recently and as a conclusion … I think being so super wide makes things very challenging. I remember being not too far from the subjects but the photos seem to show that the people (aka subjects) are further away. Good thing is that the wideness of the lens helps capture most of the ‘action’ even though sometimes I just roughly hold the camera up and snap without looking thru the viewfinder. The lens on the LC-W is pretty darn sharp and… >> read more

LC-A+ Gone Wide

Written by • May 19th, 2011 • Category: Others
Lomography as usual … got people all excited about a ‘mystery’ product and finally here it is … the Lomo LC-Wide. Seem that the classic LC-A+ has ‘mutated’ into something a lot different … boasting a newly-developed 17mm Minigon Ultra-Wide Angle lens … allows shooting in full frame, square as well as half frame formats. I was wondering what the two red parts are for and after a while … it seems that they are just part of the design. Not some buttons that you can press. Is that right… >> read more

One Outta Six Ain’t Bad?

Written by • Mar 13th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Meat Loaf once sang about having two out of three ain’t bad but that isn’t always the case when trying to get a single shot (that you want) when having kiddos as your model. Well … maybe not all of them will cause such stress but I am sure most of them are. Correct me if I am wrong though. 😀 I didn’t get to finish a roll on my compact today and to cure the itch … I thought I could try using my Instax cam to snap a… >> read more

Unboxing Tori

I shiver whenever I hear my name being called while waiting at a dentist queue but it is a totally different story when I hear my name being called while I’m busy pounding my keyboard at my work desk. Of course the voice (of the person calling my name) must be from a stranger … and that is usually … the postman! A large parcel arrived today (a little late for Christmas but who’s complaining?!) and it in … the Tori Amos special edition Diana F+ camera! I was dead… >> read more

Of Chickens & Poo

Written by • Dec 28th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
Burned some Instax wide film during my recent trip to Malaysia. This first one is my favourite. It was a lucky shot though. I waited for the rooster to walk towards me but I knew that to get a nicer angle … I had to go lower down … but … the ground was peppered with chicken poo. Damn. Eeew! I have enough of those (poo/shit/crap) at work and so I told myself that it was gonna be a ‘don’t think … just shoot’ situation. I was very happy when… >> read more

His Room

Written by • Dec 12th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
I woke up from a short nap just now and since Fitzand was still in dreamland … I suddenly had the idea of capturing some photos of stuffs in his room. He’s almost 4 now and I’m sure it won’t be too long before all the stuffs (ie. toys & stickers) etc are replaced with some other toys for older kids (don’t scare me by saying ‘gadgets & cameras’) and the Mickey & friends posters might be replaced with some rock star posters (boybands not really welcomed :P). Bikini babes?… >> read more
