Spent half a day at a pool with Fitzand and some of his classmates today. The school/childcare will be organizing swimming lessons for the kiddos next year and this morning was an intro course to let the parents know what the kiddos will be doing.

Of course my little boss was super happy and even refused to leave after the session ended after lunch. Bet me must be looking forward to the lessons.

After playing with the Fujifilm X10 for some weeks, one definite thing I wanted to do was to hunt for a thumb grip as the little grip at the back of the camera was of not much use (blame my fat thumb). My thumb is always resting on a corner of the LCD or sometimes accidentally press/turn the dial/rocker on the top right corner (at the back).

One of my favorite past time when on vacations is to wander around on the streets taking random snapshots of people. Unlike some who prefers interacting with their subjects, I prefer my subjects ‘raw’. This means I wanna capture them in the most natural situations without them smiling for the camera. I received about 5 requests for full sized photos from the Fujifilm X10. As I ain’t one who is particular about the details … nor am I a pixel peeper … I usually tell people that I’ll try post some should I find the time. I’ve never bothered to take any photo from the plane windows but yesterday on the way back to Singapore … probably somewhere near Malaysia … I decided to whip out my camera for a couple of shots as the scene made me go ‘Whoa!!!’.

For once a camera with a little bit of zoom does help. The X10!

Too lazy to start packing up for my trip back to Singapore … so I’ll just sleep on it til tomorrow morning and hope I can still make it to catch the flight at noon. Gave the X10 more random test shots today and mostly done using the EXR mode (I call this … the lazy bum like me mode) … all I did was press the shutter button. Many of them done in low light and here are the results …

The straight outta cam results are satisfying (for me). None of these shots were Photoshopped except for web resizing.

I made the biggest mistake and sinned big time when I waltzed into a camera shop here in Hong Kong today. I groped the Leica X1 … I couldn’t afford it. Next I saw something with an extra zero at the back … and there stood on the shelf … a Fujifilm X10! OMG! After playing with it for a short while … I sinned.
