<\/p>\nDug out these old scans from maybe 3 years ago when I first ventured into film photography. Well … maybe toy camera photography to be precise. I still remember buying my first Diana camera from a Yahoo! auction without even thinking if I got ripped off for the price I was paying for a piece of plastic camera. The girl who sold it to me keeps remind me that she ripped me off. \ud83d\ude00 Nah, she was joking (I hope).<\/p>\n

So clumsily I found some expired 120 film and was brave enough to bring that old Diana camera on a trip to Shanghai! I didn’t even know how to load that darn film! Not wanting to waste too many rolls, I only fired 2 rolls during that trip and upon coming back to Singapore … I was pretty awed by the quality (or the much lack of it) of the photos from that piece of plastic!<\/p>\n

From the photos, guess you can see that they were converted from color photos into monochrome images. I did that in Photoshop. Look at these photos … I didn’t even give them the same color tint during post processing. \ud83d\ude00 At that time, I didn’t even know about black & white film and all that jazz. I was just glad the risk I took, bringing that old Diana along wasn’t too bad a decision. I can clearly remember myself squatting in a corner in a temple, trying to load my first roll of film on the Diana. The friend who was with me was pretty amused (he was a hardcore digital fan) but he later picked up film photography and has evolved into some rangefinder guru (leaving me behind with these fuzzy photo producing cameras).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
