I was on leave yesterday and after helping a friend deliver some stuffs to an exhibition, I joined a couple of friends for a day of wandering around, eating and drinking. We decided to drop by this newly opened place called Marina Barrage<\/a>. Didn’t know what to expect there, so we just picked up our cameras headed on to the Singapore Flyer before proceeding to the Marina Barrage. We felt like tourists in our own country.! Oh well, we decided not to ride the Singapore Flyer<\/a> and spent the money on beer instead later.<\/p>\n

“Built across the mouth of the Marina Channel, the Marina Barrage creates Singapore\u2019s 15th reservoir, and the first in the heart of the city. With a catchment area of 10,000 hectares, or one-sixth the size of Singapore, the Marina catchment is the island\u2019s largest and most urbanised catchment. Together with two other new reservoirs, the Marina Reservoir will boost Singapore\u2019s water catchment from half to two-third\u2019s of the country\u2019s land area. <\/em><\/p>\n

The Marina Barrage is the result of Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew\u2019s vision nearly two decades ago when he envisaged damming the mouth of the Marina Channel to create a freshwater reservoir.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Weather was weird yesterday. One moment it was dead hot and sunny and the next it was gloomy. The cityscape was pretty hazy (did some darn fools in neighbouring country start burning the greens again?!!).<\/p>\n

The biggest joke of the day was when I realised upon reaching the Marina Barrage … I had only a roll of ISO200 film in my compact camera and the indoor exhibit was in super low light. Had to take a risk and hope these old hands of mine do not tremble too much, else all the photos from there will end up ultra blur. Fortunately I did pretty well, perhaps it was before I touched any beer for the day.<\/p>\n

The other roll was a roll of cross processed Elitechrome that was fermenting in my Horizon camera for quite a while.<\/p>\n
