It was pretty strange that I fell asleep before 11pm last night. I woke up feeling great and had to meet someone to sell off my last DSLR lens at 1030am. Since wifey was still sleeping, I brought Fitzand along for breakfast and then met up with the buyer and said goodbye to my last DSLR lens. \ud83d\ude00 Now all I’ve left is a flash to sell.<\/p>\n

It is always fun going out with just myself & Fitzand. He enjoyed his pancake for breakfast.<\/em><\/p>\n

Thanks to the ‘Super Sleuths’ from the ‘My Friends Tigger & Pooh’ Disney DVDs, Fitzand now thinks he is Darby from that show and wanted me to get him a scooter.<\/p>\n

It’s really funny that he kept telling us that Darby is him. “That is me!!!”. At first we were a little confused if he was referring to Tigger, Pooh, Piglet or Darby. Then he ran to the table … took the DVD box and pointed at Darby on the cover. Let’s hope he doesn’t start asking for a cap with a question mark. When we asked him why that’s him … he said that it is because Pooh and Tigger are his friends.

As if running after him while he cycles is not enough, now I’ve to go after him when he brings his scooter to the park. Eeeks! So after breakfast, I took him to Toys R Us and got him this scooter and oh boy … was he happy zooming around the house. Too bad it was pouring in the evening and he couldn’t go to the park.<\/p>\n

This one above was a snapshot taken to test out the E-PL1’s flash. Looks like a little diffuser might do some good.<\/em><\/p>\n

I took a break after lunch … to meetup with a friend for some *cough* beer and lunch and came home to scan a roll of Neopan 1600. I’ve made a blog entry with the photos before this one. After quite a ‘event filled’ day, we decided to stay home for dinner and I prepared something simple … soy noodles with Taiwan-style meatballs. We got the meatballs recently during some food fair and they were yummy! Fitzand ended up eating more meatballs than noodles and we can understand why. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n

Fitzand went to bed a bit earlier today and I finally completed the installation of Linux on my netbook. I didn’t really like Windows 7 Starter on it … a little slow and boring. \ud83d\ude00 After some reading online, I decided to try loading Ubuntu on it and took a big risk. The netbook didn’t come with a installation CD and by wiping out all the partitions on the hard disk … there was no way to restore the Windows! I could have made a back of the hidden restore partition but I was too darn lazy. Anyway … luckily the installation went smoothly and so far everything works great!<\/p>\n

I remember some years back when I was trying to install Linux (I think was Red Hat) on my old notebook … it gave me hell. Despite the fact that I used to work with Unix ages ago … it still took me many sleepless nights trying to get things right. I gave up in the end. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n

Once Ubuntu was running perfectly … I also decided to give the netbook a new look on the outside. I had this notebook skin that I bought previously and after some painful careful cutting and trimming … I got it dressed up. I just hate those fingerprint magnet surfaces they have on most notebooks.<\/p>\n
