Stardust Edition – La Sardina

Written by • Oct 13th, 2012 • Category: Others

Not sure if it was a big mistake agreeing to help a friend ‘dress up’ a La Sardina as a present for one of her friends. While I was toying with a few ideas on ‘dressing up’ the camera, she told me that the design has to be elegant. Huh? Elegant? That’s something I will have some problem creating! She told me that she trusts what I can come up with (crazy?!) and so I agreed and went on toying with some ‘elegant’ ideas. Hahaha! Knowing myself … I’ll go… >> read more

Impossible Is Possible!

Written by • Jul 8th, 2012 • Category: Others

Last Friday evening on the way to fetch Fitzand from the kindergarten … my phone buzzed and in came an email. I took a quick look and went ‘Whoa!!! OMG!!! Really??!!!’. It was an email from those guys from Impossible Project telling me that my submission for their ’101 Ways’ project was accepted and will be published in the upcoming Impossible 101 Ways book.
The project … in Impossible Project’s own words … ‘From October 2011 to January 2012 we invited you to submit your ideas on what one can only… >> read more

Pack Film Light Leaks!

Written by • Jul 6th, 2012 • Category: Others

It was an ‘accident’ turned into some cool tip to add light leaks into pack films. Brian from Rural Decay shared me with this new trick that makes me wanna pick up some new film to experiment with. Here are some of the sample results from Brian …

I like such photos (yeah … messy … madness … magic!).
Click here to check out Brian’s video on how he ‘added’ the light leaks into the photos.

After resisting getting one (or more) of those very delicious looking stripey yummy edition of the La Sardina (the Diana F+ clones are already sending me to my grave), my weak ol’ heart was put to test again when I saw this very sleek version of the Lomokino lately. The MUBI edition!

Baby Pixie

Written by • May 19th, 2012 • Category: Others

After itching for a long while to get this ‘gadget’ … each time saying ‘no’ to it and ended up spending money on camera stuffs … finally … I bit the bullet (coffee flavored one) and got myself an Nespresso Pixie coffee machine. It is the smallest (and cheapest) one … and it comes in RED!!!

It probably ain’t gonna give me super yummy coffee like a real coffee machine and all that beans and skills would … but it is fast and easy enough to give me that extra… >> read more

Shiny And Bright No More

Written by • May 12th, 2012 • Category: Others

I was using my Lensbaby Composer Pro recently during my vacation in Taiwan and I realized that some of those photos I took in bright sunlight turned out very ‘foggy’. Almost the entire photo had a washed out look … like light leak! Then I remembered having this problem too … some time ago but ignored it. So I emailed those friendly people in Lensbaby and they told me that it is due to the reflective surface on the lens mount. Earlier batches of the lenses had that version of… >> read more

So Want These!

Written by • Feb 9th, 2012 • Category: Others

Personally … I think these are two of the most beautiful cameras Lomography ever created. Really! Now that’s my personal opinion … maybe because I love how raw they look. Lomography … why do you have to do this? Even if you have to do it … why do two of them at the same time?!!! I ain’t got a piggy in my Lomography account and I still need to keep some money for beer! Duh!

When I first saw the Coyote … I told myself ‘Okay … get this… >> read more

Lovin It Ugly

Written by • Feb 2nd, 2012 • Category: Others

Trouble began when I read about rumors of a mirrorless camera from Pentax that accepts any K-mount lens. Now I’m glad I didn’t sell off any of the few Limited silver lenses I have and soon … those lovely lenses (including my Lensbabies!) will have a new mommy (my silver K5 is the daddy!). Well … this mommy ain’t the slim and sexy type though. Hahahaha! She’s ermm … boxy and ermm … weird … but I’m loving it!
