Battle Of The Wides

Written by • Jul 23rd, 2011 • Category: Others
Some friends asked me about which Lomo/toy camera should they go for if they wanna shoot wide. In the past, I’d tell them to either get the LC-A+ with the wide angle lens attachment or the (way cheaper but needs lots more light and careful usage) Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim (UWS) (also rebranded as the Superheadz’s Wide Lens Camera). Now with the introduction of few newer cameras from Lomography, it is harder to answer that question (which wide angle cam to go for). We now have the LC-Wide, La… >> read more

Spinning Buddy

Written by • Jun 20th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
I’m back spinning with my spinning buddy (aka my little boss aka Fitzand)! I’m shy by nature (yeah really!) and hate to be in photographs … but the Spinner leaves me no choice but to rope in Fitzand most of the time when I’m using it. This roll took pretty long to finish because I’m always too lazy to lug around the clumsy Spinner but when I do … we sure have lots of fun! Do click on these images for larger versions. There is an ad (on the left)… >> read more

Split! Spin! Split! Spin!

Written by • Aug 28th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
Recently as I was just about to load a of film into my Spinner … I suddenly had this crazy idea to implement the Splitzer’s concept with the Spinner’s kickass long pano. So I took a closer look at the camera and reached for the ever-useful roll of black electrical tape. I thought maybe I could just tape up parts of the slot (see photo below) and then expose the roll … reload it … and then tape up the other parts of the slot to expose the other parts… >> read more

Gary Must Be Drunk

Recently after posting some of my shots from the Spinner 360 in a local photography forum, a friend was pretty surprised when I told him that Fitzand was the one pulling the cord for some of the shots. Here’s what he said … ‘he got strength to pull the cord? the other day I tried with Jimmy’s at sentosa, took some effort man, or was I drunk‘. Hmm. Hahahaha! I told him I was sure he was drunk (as always) … and it was funny that I suddenly had this… >> read more

1st Spinful Of Crap

Written by • Jul 4th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
Too eager to give the Spinner 360 a spin (pun intended) … I popped in a roll of expired 400 negatives and filled it with some random shots. Like any other Lomo cam … this one is a light sucker as well … which means it performs better in bright sunlight even with ISO400 film. Anyway … here are the crappy random test shots I did … * click on them for a larger version. Sorry if the way these super long images are presented look weird at the moment… >> read more

Spinner : First Look

Written by • Jun 16th, 2010 • Category: Toys
I know it ain’t cheap but I thought to spend about S$200 on such a special newly invented weird camera is worth the pain. Well that’s what I thought … until some friend told me it is more like a copy of another camera. Huh? Really? I’ve never seen one! So he gave me this link and some four letter words came out flying from my filthy mouth. 😛 I must be blind or do I not see this Spinshot 35S being mentioned in the ‘History of 360 Photography’ section… >> read more

Spinner 360?!

Written by • Jun 9th, 2010 • Category: Others
As usual … Lomography has been getting the fans all excited by letting them guess what a new mystery product is. I saw some of the ‘clues’ they provided and thought it definitely has to be some panoramic camera and now … though they haven’t officially announced what the camera is … some smart ones has found it in the Lomography Asia store and it is even on Gizmodo. The Spinner 360! Not sure about the pricing as I’ve yet to be able to get into the Lomo Asia store… >> read more
