Plus A Doggie

Written by • Jan 7th, 2013 • Category: Toys
Put the finishing touch to the Nano blocks digital camera yesterday and it should now be sitting comfortably somewhere in a friend’s place. I was hunting for a nice display box for it but somehow most were either too big or simply unsuitable. Then I suddenly remembered having this display box that I bought from Ikea … many many years ago. The box didn’t really fit too nicely because the camera was a little too big but luckily I was able to tape up the back with the camera nicely… >> read more

Lovin It Ugly

Written by • Feb 2nd, 2012 • Category: Others
Trouble began when I read about rumors of a mirrorless camera from Pentax that accepts any K-mount lens. Now I’m glad I didn’t sell off any of the few Limited silver lenses I have and soon … those lovely lenses (including my Lensbabies!) will have a new mommy (my silver K5 is the daddy!). Well … this mommy ain’t the slim and sexy type though. Hahahaha! She’s ermm … boxy and ermm … weird … but I’m loving it! 16.28 Megapixel CMOS sensor form the K-5 New Prime M imaging… >> read more

Glitter Rocket

During my recent trip to visit my folks in Malaysia, I packed along my Sprocket Rocket thinking I could fire some rolls there but as I was lurking around the paint section in a hardware shop … I suddenly had an idea to create something a little different as a present for my friend Jimmy (from ThirtySix). I saw some gold paint and thought maybe I could give my Sprocket Rocket a new look and give it to him (and soon go buy a brand new one from him again).… >> read more

Juice Snatched!

Was a little reluctant to create this entry because there ain’t any subject to blog about … but then after seeing this next image that I randomly snapped in the morning … I thought maybe I should share it with you guys. I’m loving it lots! Perhaps it was due to the very nice lighting at that moment … Maybe it is just my old fuzzy eyes … I find it to have a bit of 3D look to it. 😀 That’s almost how it appeared straight out of the… >> read more

Unboxing Tori

I shiver whenever I hear my name being called while waiting at a dentist queue but it is a totally different story when I hear my name being called while I’m busy pounding my keyboard at my work desk. Of course the voice (of the person calling my name) must be from a stranger … and that is usually … the postman! A large parcel arrived today (a little late for Christmas but who’s complaining?!) and it in … the Tori Amos special edition Diana F+ camera! I was dead… >> read more

Instant In A Box

Written by • Jul 23rd, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
This is probably something I had been working on for the longest time (just like trying to quit smoking). The original plan was to make an instant pinhole camera using a dead old Polaroid EE100 but after some initial disappointment and some headaches trying to remove the parts off the camera … I decided to work on a totally different DIY instant pinhole camera. The mess I got from trying to modify the EE100 into an instant pinhole. LOL! I couldn’t remove the part where the original lens used to… >> read more

Spinner : First Look

Written by • Jun 16th, 2010 • Category: Toys
I know it ain’t cheap but I thought to spend about S$200 on such a special newly invented weird camera is worth the pain. Well that’s what I thought … until some friend told me it is more like a copy of another camera. Huh? Really? I’ve never seen one! So he gave me this link and some four letter words came out flying from my filthy mouth. 😛 I must be blind or do I not see this Spinshot 35S being mentioned in the ‘History of 360 Photography’ section… >> read more

Pinhole Pizza?

Written by • Mar 20th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
Some time ago … I was ‘stuck’ with some piggies (US$ credits) in the Lomography store and had to decide on ‘killing’ them on something a couple of days before they expired. There wasn’t any camera I was eyeing and I’ve enough film in my fridge to last me a while. So I browsed around and came across these pinhole cameras called ‘Pinhole Blender’. Huh? What a name! They look like some cool metal cans that you can shove a roll of film (they come in 35mm and 120 variations)… >> read more

Analogue Lust

I confess that I’ve been wanting this camera for quite a while now. Perhaps for several years! I saw one for sale quite some years back but the price was a little on the high side (for me) and after giving that a miss … I somehow forgotten about it. Phew! Well … that’s until recently I chanced upon this unit for sale that is in very minty condition and comes with the original pouch and box! I contacted the seller and (pushed my luck) offered him an amount and… >> read more

Light It Up Camera

Written by • Dec 22nd, 2009 • Category: Toys
We’ve seen cameras ‘disguised’ as fruit juice boxes, books, cigarette boxes and all sorts of fancy stuffs. Little did I know that there is even one ‘disguised’ as a cigarette lighter! Looks cute and neat but I’ve yet to see any sample photo/video from it. Pull off the top part of the ‘lighter’ and it looks just like an USB thumb drive. It even has a 4GB memory built-in for lots of photos & video fun. Not sure if this toy is suitable for school kids though. They might get… >> read more
