High Risk Doubles

Written by • Jul 16th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
Not too long ago … I did mention that I was letting Fitzand fire some shots on a roll of doubles collaboration with someone … but I wasn’t very sure if it was a good idea to mention who that roll was from. Hahaha! I loaded that roll (some 24exp ISO200 negative that I can’t recall the name) into an old plastic Coke camera and let Fitzand help finish half a roll of it … while I struggled to finish the other half. That roll of film flew all the… >> read more

Another No So Doubles

Ooooh nooooo! After the earlier roll that I sent Fabienne in France for a doubles collaboration, comes another roll that has my exposures that are mostly barely visible. My exposures seem to end up as ‘textures’ for hers. Hahaha! Maybe there’s something not right about my camera that underexposes it further even when I just underexposed it by 1 stop. Grrrr! I’ve a roll from her that I’ve yet to expose and guess I’ll not underexpose it when I use it later. This one below seems to survive best …… >> read more

Warm Night, Cold Noods

After selling off my DSLR body yesterday, I managed to let go my macro lens this evening. This means I’ve only 2 more lenses to sell before I am officially ‘DSLRless’. Someone’s coming over to check out the Sigma 10-20 lens tomorrow evening and I do hope he’ll help me clear off one more lens. These are a couple more of random test shots with the E-PL1 just now during dinner with my family (while waiting for the buyer who wanted my macro lens). I’ve had soba for the 2nd… >> read more

Blur Is Perfect!

A couple of weeks ago, I came across this really cool photo book at FourCornersDark website and from a few sample pages … I fell in love with it. Blurfect. Yeah! Blur! Blur is beautiful and I’m a sucker for such photos. The book layout is simple yet elegant … and costs only US$10 each. It states in the website that there is a ‘Edition of 100-signed/numbered’ copies but I don’t know if there are only 100 of them for sale. I got number 53 and 55 in the mail… >> read more

Not Very Double Doubles

Written by • Apr 6th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
Following the previous collaboration with Fabienne (France), she sent me some scans of a roll I sent her some time ago. Unfortunately most of my exposures were a little (or too much) underexposed and so you get to see more scenes from Southern France (Fab … did I get the location right?) instead. I’m working on some rolls for another doubles collaboration with her … this time it will be a little crazy because I’m gonna try out some new ‘tricks’ that I’m not sure if will work. 😀… >> read more

Time For Celebrations

Written by • Feb 7th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
The Chinese New Year is about a week away and while I usually don’t bother much about any preparation (except for packing my bags to travel to Malaysia to celebrate with my folks) … this year I’m putting a bit of effort to get some stuffs done before I leave for Malaysia come next weekend. The childcare Fitzand is attending will be having a small ‘celebration’ for the kids and the kids are supposed to be dressed up for the ‘party’ in those ermmm … what do you call those?… >> read more

Photographiques customises?

Written by • Dec 24th, 2009 • Category: Others
It wasn’t long ago that I did this interview with Catherine who runs a photography website (in French) … mostly about those ‘dressed up’/customized Holga cameras I used to do. Looking back … it has been a long long while since I’ve worked on any new design for the Holga cams and I promise myself to find time to work on few more designs in 2010. It is not that I’ve no new ideas to do them … but it is always the lack of time in life. Hahaha. How… >> read more
