About Mijonju

Written by • Jan 15th, 2010 • Category: Someone : About
Michel aka Mijonju is a very interesting friend I got to know (strangely) through some Olympus E-P1 forum. His is a big crazy camera lover and of course from there, we got to be pretty good friends and did some double exposure collaborations together. I’m hoping we can meet up soon in Japan when I’m on vacation … but I’ve gotta make sure he doesn’t bring me camera shopping! Anyway, he is the featured person in this round of ‘About Someone’ entry. It is very interesting (and funny) to… >> read more

Extracting The Film Leader

Written by • Dec 19th, 2009 • Category: Others
Quite often I’ve been asked how do we extract the film leader from the canister … in order for the roll to be reloaded into another camera for the 2nd exposure. To be honest … in the past … I used to get the guy at the lab to help me do so. I thought that was the only way to do it until I met a very helpful camera seller who demonstrated how it can be done with just a short strip of film and double-sided tapes. I immediately… >> read more

The World We Created?

Written by • Sep 23rd, 2009 • Category: Others
I paused for a long while after watching this video someone sent me. Just moments ago, I walked out from Toys ‘R’ Us with a bag of new toys for Fitzand and now … I’m watching these children struggling to stay alive. I felt like a bomb. I felt really sad. I wondered how many more children like them are suffering out there. It is always good to have people filming such videos to not only raise awareness, but also to remind the rest of us that we are already… >> read more

UPDATE 21 Oct 2011 – “She is pain free and she gave us her parting smile.” were the words in her blog that made me real upset this morning. Charmaine has left us but I’m sure she is now in a better world than this. I do not personally know her or her family but on behalf of them, I’d like to thank all those who has helped the family in this ‘fight’. No … we didn’t lose. Charmaine was strong and she won herself a flight to a more… >> read more

Spotted!!!

Written by • Jun 2nd, 2009 • Category: Others
It has been a while since I started this ‘bear hunt‘ for a copy of Fitzand’s teddy bear in yellow clothes and finally … a private message in a local parenting forum came in … a nice lady found someone selling it online! I was overjoyed! Then came a little bit of panic … is the bear still for sale??!!! This image above is from the original WANTED post that I planted in my blog and some local forums … on a nationwide hunt for this elusive yellow fella. Check… >> read more

First Four

Written by • May 20th, 2009 • Category: Toys
It was back in the year 2007 that I started this bad ‘addiction’ … buying the Diana+/F+ clones from Lomography. I remember very clearly that this friend … Jimmy (from TreesAndShrooms) showing me the MEG version of the Diana+ camera … yeah … it was red (my fav color!) and the told me that we should buy it. So I did just that … and then picked up the Lomo World Congress edition too. So with those 2 ‘special editions’, a normal Diana+ and an old original Diana from the… >> read more

Customized Holgas : Charity sale

Written by • Oct 4th, 2008 • Category: Others
I’ve been toying with the idea of selling off these three customized Holga cameras for some time and finally, I have decided to put them out for sale here. 100% of the sales amount will go to charity of your choice. Please do consider ‘adopting’ them for charity and contact me for viewing and sale. If you are residing in Singapore, I would gladly accept cheques made payable to the charity of your choice. Overseas customers can pay me through PayPal and I’ll send you copies of the receipts once… >> read more
