Beneath The Surface by Miun

Miun (aka Noreen aka Norya) … a very talented friend of mine has been spending a lot of time exploring some very cool methods of experimenting with the Impossible Project films and deriving at really neat works. Come July and September 2013 … she will be exhibiting her works in Hong Kong and you guys definitely have to go check it out if you are there. I’m gonna bug her for a ticket to Hong Kong (plus beer and accomodation!)  for being her #1 fan! For more information about these… >> read more

Boogie Boy

Dug this very short video out from my notebook last night while doing some housekeeping on the hard disk. Added some music and here it is. I shot this during our trip to Hong Kong some months back. 😀… >> read more

Crossing My Path #2

Written by • Nov 9th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
One of my favorite past time when on vacations is to wander around on the streets taking random snapshots of people. Unlike some who prefers interacting with their subjects, I prefer my subjects ‘raw’. This means I wanna capture them in the most natural situations without them smiling for the camera. Most photos from this set were taken using the Fujifilm X10 as I was giving it a test run on the streets. I usually love getting close to the people and thus shooting wide most of the time. The… >> read more

Pretty In Pink & Purple

Ran over to ThirtySix a few days before my Hong Kong trip to pick up a pack of the Lomography X Tungsten 64 film … thinking I could give it a test run during the trip. Unfortunately I was too busy entertaining my little one that I hardly had the time (and mood) to shoot much. Anyway … here are the photos from the roll of Tungsten film. As per what I read & saw online … this film is pretty cool … with a little randomness when it comes… >> read more

Mistakes With Diana

Written by • Nov 1st, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Forgetting what film was loaded into a Diana F+ camera was probably one big mistake. Realising that I’ve not been using my Diana F+ camera for the longest time and deciding to bring it along with the roll of film (that I loaded in it maybe over a year ago and not know what film) for my recent Hong Kong trip … was another big mistake. I thought I had a roll of ISO400 film loaded and happily fired away (although I only managed to that roll of 120 film… >> read more

From The Sky

I’ve never bothered to take any photo from the plane windows but yesterday on the way back to Singapore … probably somewhere near Malaysia … I decided to whip out my camera for a couple of shots as the scene made me go ‘Whoa!!!’. For once a camera with a little bit of zoom does help. 😀 The X10! I sure did struggle lots at work today to keep myself awake and sane but thank God I made it through. Another 4 days to go til the weekends but I… >> read more

HK : Fun, Aches, Kitty

Written by • Oct 30th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Too lazy to start packing up for my trip back to Singapore … so I’ll just sleep on it til tomorrow morning and hope I can still make it to catch the flight at noon. It has been a wonderful trip with lots (and lots) of eating and a bit of shopping (I swear I only bought 1 thing and the rest of the shopping were done by wifey and Fitzand). 😀 I’m dead tired now after the many days of non stop entertaining the little one who seemed to… >> read more

X10 : More Random Tests

Written by • Oct 28th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Gave the X10 more random test shots today and mostly done using the EXR mode (I call this … the lazy bum like me mode) … all I did was press the shutter button. Many of them done in low light and here are the results … The straight outta cam results are satisfying (for me). None of these shots were Photoshopped except for web resizing. After some hours of use … I still don’t quite like the idea of having to turn the zoom barrel to switch on the… >> read more

Crossing My Path #1

Checked into the hotel at Tsim Tsa Tsui and on the way for a late lunch … with just my X100 in hand … I shot everyone who crossed my path. I love street photography and I’m beginning to love using the electronic viewfinder (EVF) on the X100. The wide lens is a joy to use for street photography! I’ll probably fill up my SD card the next few days on the streets but I sure hope I can find the mood & inspiration to finish a roll of film… >> read more

Hong Kong Trip : Part 1

Written by • Oct 26th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Checking out of Disneyland Hotel in 2 hours and we’ll be heading to Tsim Tsa Tsui where we’ll spend the rest of our week-long vacation. The last 2 days were spent in Disneyland Park and there’s no prize for guessing who had the biggest fun there. 😀 Honestly … if not because of wanting Fitzand to have big fun … we probably had left the place in half a day. Don’t get me wrong … I’m a big fan of Disneyland but for those who has been to this one… >> read more
