The MUBI Poison

Written by • May 23rd, 2012 • Category: Others
After resisting getting one (or more) of those very delicious looking stripey yummy edition of the La Sardina (the Diana F+ clones are already sending me to my grave), my weak ol’ heart was put to test again when I saw this very sleek version of the Lomokino lately. The MUBI edition! Isn’t it sexy??!! It’s the perfect match – Lomography have joined forces with MUBI to bring you the first LomoKino special edition. Featuring the signature of the Palme D’Or winning Director Apichatpong Weerasethakul, the LomoKino MUBI Edition is… >> read more

The Pocket Cam

Compact cameras like the Natura Classica ain’t exactly compact to me. That’s because they won’t fit into my pocket (although empty πŸ™ ) easily. Some months ago I picked up an used GR10 that was in minty condition for slightly less than S$200 and decided to use that as my everyday camera that I can bring around … and be my workhorse. I know there are some yummier alternatives like the GR21 (damn … I saw someone selling one lately) or the GR1v … but I need something cheap, something… >> read more

Split! Spin! Split! Spin!

Written by • Aug 28th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film
Recently as I was just about to load a of film into my Spinner … I suddenly had this crazy idea to implement the Splitzer’s concept with the Spinner’s kickass long pano. So I took a closer look at the camera and reached for the ever-useful roll of black electrical tape. I thought maybe I could just tape up parts of the slot (see photo below) and then expose the roll … reload it … and then tape up the other parts of the slot to expose the other parts… >> read more

Week Ending 23rd May

Finally I have a bit of time to sit down and update my blog after a very busy weekend. I was recovering from a (bad!) hangover this morning and thank God after some many litres of fruit juice … I’m okay now. This entry is gonna be quite long because I’m trying to squeeze all the stuffs (and photos) into just one entry. πŸ˜› It must be because I’m old and outdated … little did I know that kiddo shoes now come with built-in racing cars. Yeah! Cars inside! Hahaha!… >> read more

Random Fours

The Aryca Actionsampler camera is one of those what I expect to use perhaps less than 5 times a year. Loaded it with a roll of 400 film before my recent trip to Sentosa and ended up having to fill it with some other random shots to finish it before finally sending it to the lab today. I prefer this Actionsampler over the one from Lomography because of the few other shooting modes (eg. 4 identical, 4 separate shots) and thought maybe I should use of more often and just… >> read more

Film : The making of

Written by • Jun 4th, 2009 • Category: Others
Ever wondered how the rolls of film we happily load into our cameras are made? To be honest … I’ve never bothered to ask myself that question and when I recently came across this video on how film is made … I am pretty glad I now know a little bit more than ‘that dark strip of plastic looking thing’ that I load into my camera. πŸ˜€ Check out the cool video here.… >> read more

SG X US : Pt 2

Written by • Apr 23rd, 2009 • Category: Fun with film
The first outta three rolls that I sent fuzztone04 (Matt Hannon from the US) for a doubles collaboration. This is a roll of expired Ektachrome and if I am not wrong … he also shot this using a LC-A. It has always been fun doing such collaborations but due to my super busy life … it always takes me weeks and weeks to finish a roll. Do also check out the rolls he sent me here. Can’t wait to see how the other 2 rolls are gonna turn out.… >> read more
