More ‘Now what?’ Photos

Written by • Dec 5th, 2012 • Category: Digital stuffs
Following the earlier set of ‘now what?’ photos … here are more of those photos that I took … and then had to try hard to convince myself to dig them out from the SD card, look at them and try pick a few to keep. Yeah … those landscape, cityscape and all those stuffs that somehow I ain’t too interested in photographing (but still guilty of doing so to cure my trigger happy fingers). I miss the cold! 🙁 Not only I can’t convince myself to stick to either… >> read more

A LC-Wide Miracle Roll!

Written by • May 30th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
It has been quite some worrying hours since the night shoot with Jim & Noreen on Saturday night (you can read about it here) as I was really hoping to see some of my own first photos with the LC-W. I quickly fired away the remaining frames yesterday and made a dash to the lab during lunch today. The moment the guy at the lab handed me the film strips … I asked him ‘gone case?’ and he replied ‘not really … got things!’. Miracle happened! Well … at least… >> read more

2011 Is Here!

Written by • Jan 1st, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
In a flash … a new year is here again. Happy New Year everyone! It will be just another busy day ‘entertaining’ my little boy and attending a barbecue session in the evening organized by my office people. What I need to do is make sure I remember to take a photo with my Lensbaby for my second attempt at doing a Lensbaby diary where I will take a photo a day with the Lensbaby. In this new year … there is already a big list of things I wanna… >> read more

Infrared With No Camera

Written by • Nov 28th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
I woke up feeling a little sad … thinking that today is Sunday! Phew! Yesterday was a public holiday and that was the reason why I woke up in cold sweat. It is not that I hate Sundays but they are always a bit too close to blue Mondays. Recently … despite the slight drizzle sometimes … the weather is pretty good. A friend buzzed me to join him for a short walk in the park to test out an Infrared converted camera and I rushed there … without my… >> read more

Story? [Rant]

Written by • Nov 5th, 2009 • Category: Others
Give me a moment while I adjust my frequency … [RANT MODE ON] Okay. I seldom do this but I thought maybe I could bitch about some things that kinda irritate me here. Often I’ll go around photography forums viewing photos taken by others … no … not for inspiration because that will make me a ‘photocopier’ … but just to sit back and enjoy (and sometimes not) the photos. I came across this pretty clean and nice landscape photo that someone took during sunset (or was it sunrise?) at… >> read more

Holga Has A Digital Cousin?

Written by • Oct 7th, 2009 • Category: Others
A friend sent me a link to this Yashica EZ F521 camera and at first look … I thought it is another plastic old film camera. Checking out the details, it seems this retro looking camera is a digital one! It has a 5 megapixel sensor, 2.4 inch LCD, auto ISO setting and a lens that reminds us of the good old Holga camera. Focusing seems to be manual … note the mountain and flower icons on the side of the lens. It runs on AA batteries, shoots 640×480 video… >> read more

Curious Superstar

It’s finally Friday again! While waiting for the happy weekend to arrive, I thought I might as well add an entry to share this super funny and cute photograph that I saw in the news recently. It is the type of photo that makes me smile every time I see it. Cute ain’t it? Hahaha. This was somehow an ‘accidental’ shot when the American couple were on vacation in Canada. They had the self timer on … posed for the photo and suddenly out came a curious squirrel who looked… >> read more

IR After Sunrise

Written by • Jun 6th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
Right after we finished shooting the sunrise and since I had some time before rushing home to bring my family out for an outing, I decided to take some infrared photos using the recently modified Canon G6. It wasn’t that sunny yet and I had to endure slightly long exposures … but luckily my tripod was with me. I’ve mentioned that I usually prefer black & white infrared photos before but this time I decided to leave it with some colors with the usual ‘standard’ infrared post-processing method of channel… >> read more

Lensbaby Is Back!

Written by • Jun 6th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
I’ve not touched the Lensbaby since I abandoned my ‘Lensbaby Diary’ project a few months ago. It’s not like I’ve got sick of it but I wanted short break to ‘recollect myself’ and now I’m back … with the Lensbaby. To get back in steam with the Lensbaby … I woke up at 5am today and picked up a friend (and some coffee) and headed on to Punggol beach for a sunrise shoot (of course with the Lensbaby!). I must say that the sunrise this morning was beautiful. It has… >> read more

Holga 120WPC (Wide Pinhole Camera). If I remember correctly, I’ve only used it three times since I bought it because getting 6 shots (only) out of a roll fo 120 film is a bit too costly. Well if I were to be any better and be able to get 6 perfect (or decent) shots out of every roll … then I won’t be complaining. I decided to perform some ‘operation’ on it and turn it into a 35mm camera. The next question is … HOW? I hate the idea of… >> read more
