dothebag mono 08

Written by • Apr 7th, 2013 • Category: Lead Story
In the process of making a comeback (ie. spending time snapping more photos) … I picked up a new camera bag to replace my Kelly Moore ‘Boy’ bag (which was a big disappointment and you’ll read more about it later in this entry). I must admit I have one too many camera bags at home but I couldn’t resist this full leather one from monochrom (site in German). The name ‘dothebag’ is pretty cool too eh? 😀 dothebag mono 08 It is of the right size (for me) as I’m… >> read more

RX100 Skinned

Written by • Oct 10th, 2012 • Category: Toys
Probably the only ‘problem’ I find with the Sony DSC-RX100 … the way too slippery matt black surface of the camera body. Maybe it is just my fat clumsy fingers but I sure wished it has some form of rubber/leather skin to make holding it easier. Of course to be safe … I always use a wrist strap with it. I saw some shots (here in Singapore) selling some skins (not sure if they are leather or rubber though) but from the photos I saw (of the cam and skin)… >> read more

The ‘311 We Care’ Strap

Written by • Aug 26th, 2012 • Category: Toys
I was eyeing this white special edition strap from Wotancraft + Annie Barton 1972 that a seller was giving away with the purchase of his Wotancraft bag. I have a Wotancraft bag and didn’t want to buy another (I’m broke!), so I decided to just forget about the strap some time ago. Great news is that recently a friend wanted to get that bag from the seller … but the bag was already sold … but the strap was still available! So I promptly (!) contacted the seller and bought… >> read more

The OneKnot Strap

Written by • Jun 14th, 2012 • Category: Toys
Finally found a leather wrist strap that I love lots! This 21cm OneKnot wrist strap from Zhou (jiozhou on eBay) is made from fine cow hide … looks simple … and has the ‘raw’ look that I love. It is very soft and comfortable yet feels strong enough for most cameras that doesn’t weigh a ton. There ain’t no stitches or clips. The design is cleverly secured using a simple knot (thus the name OneKnot). Luckily it is pretty nicely priced (US$18.50) that I bought two of these … one… >> read more

X100 Minus 00

Written by • Jun 5th, 2012 • Category: Toys
Yup … Take away the ’00’ from the X100 and now it is X1. The Leica X1! Traded my Fujifilm X100 with a friend’s very minty condition X1 … just to have a feel of it (despite knowing the slower AF and lack of video function). It has been years since I’ve used a Leica digital camera. The last one was the Digilux 2 which I love and it was a great cam in those old days. Found a matching 2nd hand hand half case at a great price and… >> read more

X-Pro1 Dressed Up

Written by • May 25th, 2012 • Category: Toys
After being naked for some time … finally I got my X-Pro1 ‘dressed up’. It took almost 2 weeks for this Funper leather half case to arrive from Hong Kong. There are 101 choices (of half cases) out there but I find this one pretty neat and price is reasonable. Didn’t wanna spend more on a JnK case like the one I have for the X-100, so I placed an order and was told it would take almost 10 days for the factory to make it. Huh? Made on demand?… >> read more

Bagged Another Bag!

Written by • Sep 12th, 2011 • Category: Toys
I remember blogging about how I’ll stay away from buying another camera bag not too long ago but … well … ermm … sometimes I just can’t resist temptations. My camera bag count is hitting way above wifey’s number of bags and I probably have to find a way to properly store them instead of scattering them all over my study room (and a couple of them in the living room). This one from Wotancraft arrived today in a big box. It smells weird. It smells like it has been… >> read more

Park, Snow, Leather

Written by • Jul 24th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
There is never enough time to do everything that I want … especially on weekends. Finding time to spend with my cameras is always the biggest challenge and this weekend is no exception. I desperately took a short walk in the almost completed Bishan park (the upgrade seems to take ages!) alone and managed to cure (a little) my trigger happy habit. These are two shots taken with an old infrared converted camera. I’ve always like my IR images in black & white instead of the colored versions. Many parts… >> read more

Smelly & Sexy

Written by • Jun 7th, 2011 • Category: Toys
I am guilty of probably owning more bags than my wife and after a long search for a leather bag that is old, still in good condition, of the right size, smelling bad and doesn’t look too ‘wow’ … my prayers were answered when the famous Mijonju (you must be shot if you love analogue/toy cameras and do not know him already but anyway … he’s the famous young man who gives us The Mijonju Show) put this old leather bag (one that he bought used too) up for sale.… >> read more

X-100 All Dressed Up

Written by • May 23rd, 2011 • Category: Toys
Finally time to post some photos of my X-100 … all ‘dressed up’ and looking pretty. Yeah I know … I know … it ain’t a rangefinder but just a ‘Casio rangefinder’ (a friend calls it that) that tries to look like a retro camera. 😀 Let’s not go there. Sorry if the colors of the case looks different in all the photos. Hahaha! I was in a rush to go fetch my boy from school and had only 5 minutes to snap some photos without much time to mess… >> read more
