Lensbaby Diary Is Back!

Written by • Jan 1st, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Two years ago I had to abandon my Lensbaby Diary (a Lensbaby photo a day project) as I just couldn’t find time to shoot every day. Well it is not too different now but since Fitzand is turning 4 next month and I’ve a bit more ‘breathing space’, I’ll give this project another go. Since today is the 1st of January 2011 … I thought why not kick off the project by photographing my favourite subject. πŸ˜€ After taking a few shots … I realised I had a problem. There… >> read more

Lensbabies + K-x : A Test

Written by • May 11th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
After a short break from using my Lensbaby, finally I’ve ‘migrated’ the cool lenses to Pentax mount and since the K-x will be almost ‘permanently married’ to the Lensbabies … I had to give it a test run to figure out how the camera will meter with the lenses. Lugged the setup to Malaysia during the weekend … hoping to be able to find time to take some shots and get used to the new combo … time somehow zapped past real fast and I ended up with only a… >> read more

Lensbaby FE and SF : Unboxing

Written by • Dec 24th, 2009 • Category: Toys
Finally I made it … taking the first step into changing my lifestyle a little by resisting all invitations to go for some X’mas dinners and drinking! I know my plan to start a change is supposed to be from the 1st of January 2010, but I thought I could start doing a little bit of ‘rehearsal’ now. Hahaha! I took my family out for a short nice dinner and came home to play with Fitzand. I also did the unboxing of the 3 ‘toys’ that Lensbaby sent me recently… >> read more

New Lensbaby Fun!

Written by • Oct 22nd, 2009 • Category: Others
From those cool people who brought us some special fun into the world of photography … Lensbaby … has just launched two new products to their already fun line of lenses and accessories … the Fisheye Optic and also the Soft Focus optic. The Fisheye optic works with the Composer but will need a special adapter to work well with the Muse. While the website didn’t mention anything about the Control Freak, I assume it is not compatible. Do correct me if I’m wrong. For those big fans of fisheye… >> read more

Plastic Surgery

Written by • Oct 11th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
While the doctor might need to melt a hundred Diana cameras to get enough plastic to make me look real good … I hope you don’t get worried by this entry’s title. I am still the same me. πŸ˜€ The plastic surgery was meant for my Lensbaby instead. I wasn’t really impressed by the plastic optic kit for my Composer & Muse. Somehow although they claim that it is a plastic lens … it just wasn’t good bad enough. I wanted at least something as lousy as a Diana camera’s… >> read more

Customer Happiness?

Written by • Aug 4th, 2009 • Category: Others
It has been a while since I received the sponsored Muse from Lensbaby but only recently I took the effort to email them about a slight ‘problem’ I had with the copy of Canon mount lens. The lens seemed to be easily removed when mounted on my camera body, so I was really worried I might accidentally turn it a little and the ‘baby’ will go rolling into some drain. So one night, I wrote to them explaining about this ‘problem’ I have and the next morning … I got… >> read more

Lensbabies Goes M43

Written by • Jul 15th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
What originally planned was to use only the 17mm f2.8 pancake lens on my E-P1 somehow didn’t last long. First I thought why not get an adapter to use the lens on my Pen F camera and later I had the itch to try using my Lensbabies on it. Duh! This means I’ll need two adapters! Ordered a Pen F to M43 adapter from ebay but it has not arrived as I’m typing this but managed to grab a Canon EF to M43 one from a local online camera store… >> read more

Plastic Killer Found!

Written by • Jul 12th, 2009 • Category: Others
See this photo below. It’s a closeup of my mouse taken just now. Look at the part marked by the red arrow. What on earth happened? No … I didn’t chew on it! Some darn insect bit my fingers and I applied some medicated oil and then happily continued using my computer. Few minutes later … I realised my palm was a little sticky. I checked and went ‘Whoooa!!! Damn!!! Shit!!!’. Part of the paint/plastic on the mouse has ‘melted’ (sorry … that’s the only word I know to describe… >> read more

Lensbaby Is Back!

Written by • Jun 6th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
I’ve not touched the Lensbaby since I abandoned my ‘Lensbaby Diary’ project a few months ago. It’s not like I’ve got sick of it but I wanted short break to ‘recollect myself’ and now I’m back … with the Lensbaby. To get back in steam with the Lensbaby … I woke up at 5am today and picked up a friend (and some coffee) and headed on to Punggol beach for a sunrise shoot (of course with the Lensbaby!). I must say that the sunrise this morning was beautiful. It has… >> read more
