A LC-Wide Miracle Roll!

Written by • May 30th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
It has been quite some worrying hours since the night shoot with Jim & Noreen on Saturday night (you can read about it here) as I was really hoping to see some of my own first photos with the LC-W. I quickly fired away the remaining frames yesterday and made a dash to the lab during lunch today. The moment the guy at the lab handed me the film strips … I asked him ‘gone case?’ and he replied ‘not really … got things!’. Miracle happened! Well … at least… >> read more

To The Museum And More

After last night’s ‘dramatic’ trip to the Boat Quay area for some (most likely gone case) night shots … I was back there again today but this time … in the late morning with my family. We brought Fitzand to check out the ‘Little Explorer’s Travels‘ event at the Asians Civilisations Museum and although he wasn’t that ‘impressed’ with some of the old stuffs on display (he kept telling us ‘spooky!’ when he saw some of those exhibits like the rather scary looking colorful Chinese … ermmm … puppets/statues. 😀… >> read more

IMPRINTS Entry 1

Written by • Jul 30th, 2010 • Category: Others
Struggled a while to complete this short entry for the IMPRINTS series @ Yesterday.sg which was published yesterday. I guess I should not agree to do such things in future. Hahaha! Trying to find a topic to write is tough enough and having a deadline to do it … is worse! This is the 1st entry of two that I am supposed to publish. Anyway … here it is … more of a simple intro about why I love this hobby … “What’s so fun about these cameras?” “Film? Huh?… >> read more

RF Introduction

For those who are interested in picking up a rangefinder camera or those who are just curious about what a rangefinder is all about, there will be a rangefinder introduction showcase and talk on the 6th August 2010 at the Glass Hall, Singapore Art Museum. I ain’t part of this community (yet) because I ain’t got no rangefinder camera … but just helping a friend spread the word (and poison). 😀 I’m wondering if I can find time to attend it but at the same time … I’m worried about… >> read more

Re-loving Black & White

A roll of Neopan 1600 was stuck in my good ol’ Nikon FA for the longest time. After scanning these shots, I realised that some of them were from a long time back … when I was having some pints of icy cold Guinness at an Irish bar during the afternoon (yeah … it felt like a blackout when I stepped outta the pub). I left that roll fermenting in the camera until lately when I bought the pancake Nikon 45mm f2.8P lens and wanted to test drive it. These… >> read more

Babysitting Marathon

It somehow feels like a Saturday night but fortunately it is only Friday night. It’s Good Friday today and hooray to ‘no work’! Hahaha! I was on half day leave yesterday to pick up Fitzand from the childcare. They were doing some minor renovations at the childcare and had to close it for half a day. Yeah … excuses! They just want a longer weekend! Damn. After picking him up, I brought him around … to the photo lab … then to ThirtySix to visit those evil people who sells… >> read more

Exit : Light

The Natura 1600 film has always been one of my favourite … too bad it costs quite a lot. Picked up a couple of 24 exposure ones some time ago and has been quite reluctant to use them. Duh. Guess I’ve to put them to good use instead of letting them hibernate in the fridge, so here’s one roll from my Klasse W. Brought Fitzand for an evening out at the beach in Sentosa (and of course not forgetting some pints of beer from the beach bar), so the low… >> read more
