Fisheyed + Redscaled Planes

Written by • May 27th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Got a little too trigger happy yesterday at the Air Force open house preview and burned a roll of redscale film loaded in my Pentax MZ-30 coupled with the Lensbaby Scout + fisheye optic combo. It was a super darn hot day but somehow the roll still turned out underexposed. Bah! Well at least I know the next time I use redscale on the cam … I’ll probably compensate the exposure by +1 (or is it +2?). I was a little disappointed after scanning the first two shots but then… >> read more

Juice Snatched!

Was a little reluctant to create this entry because there ain’t any subject to blog about … but then after seeing this next image that I randomly snapped in the morning … I thought maybe I should share it with you guys. I’m loving it lots! Perhaps it was due to the very nice lighting at that moment … Maybe it is just my old fuzzy eyes … I find it to have a bit of 3D look to it. 😀 That’s almost how it appeared straight out of the… >> read more

Unboxing Tori

I shiver whenever I hear my name being called while waiting at a dentist queue but it is a totally different story when I hear my name being called while I’m busy pounding my keyboard at my work desk. Of course the voice (of the person calling my name) must be from a stranger … and that is usually … the postman! A large parcel arrived today (a little late for Christmas but who’s complaining?!) and it in … the Tori Amos special edition Diana F+ camera! I was dead… >> read more

Clink And Clank!

The pair of little cymbals I bought for Fitzand a very long time ago … was put to a major test this Chinese New Year. In the past, he will wanna play with it occasionally but ever since he’s been seeing one too many lion dance performance … he’s banging ’em almost every day. Yeah … the noise drives us crazy sometimes but at least he enjoys doing it. Yesterday evening, while on a short walk around the neighborhood, he suddenly whipped out his cymbals (on standby in his Tigger… >> read more

Trick Or Treat?

Written by • Oct 30th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
Few days ago, I was kinda surprised when Fitzand told me ‘Friday we are going to collect sweets!’ when I fetched him from the childcare. It took me a while to realise that they are probably going trick-or-treating today. Hahahaha. Then the next day, we got a note from the childcare informing us that they are arranging the kiddos to go trick-or-treating and want us to get some costume and stuffs for him. Fun! According to the teachers, they have already pre-planned everything and those neighbourhood shops that will be… >> read more

Lensbaby Is Back!

Written by • Jun 6th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
I’ve not touched the Lensbaby since I abandoned my ‘Lensbaby Diary’ project a few months ago. It’s not like I’ve got sick of it but I wanted short break to ‘recollect myself’ and now I’m back … with the Lensbaby. To get back in steam with the Lensbaby … I woke up at 5am today and picked up a friend (and some coffee) and headed on to Punggol beach for a sunrise shoot (of course with the Lensbaby!). I must say that the sunrise this morning was beautiful. It has… >> read more

Redscale vs LB

Written by • Feb 8th, 2009 • Category: Fun with film
What happens when something that some call bizarre … is paired with something else that’s pretty bizarre? It’s Lensbaby meets redscale film! My first attempt in using the Lensbaby Composer on my el-cheapo EOS88 SLR and a roll of Lomo Redscale negative film. Was too lazy to make a roll of redscale for this purpose, so decided to use the roll of redscale that a friend gave me to try it out. I know I’m supposed to copy out those backlog entry photos for my Lensbaby Diary and update my… >> read more

How to : Redscale film photography

Written by • Feb 17th, 2008 • Category: Others
All you’ve to do is load the film into a canister with the wrong side facing up. This means that the wrong side will get exposed instead. The result … weird and funky colored photos like this …  Here are some simple steps which I learned from some guys online …  What you need are two rolls of films. You are going to empty (waste) one of them, so it’s best if you have some expired or unwanted film to sacrifice. Let’s name the two rolls A and B. Roll… >> read more
