Received an email from Bill … the co-founder & editor of Composing With Images Press and thought this might interest some of you toy camera fans out there. Not only your masterpieces has the chance to be included in a photo book … but you are also doing a great part in helping raise fund to help others. All proceeds from the… >> read more

Toy Cameras : The Book

Written by • Mar 1st, 2011 • Category: Others
The postman arrived today with a book titled ‘Toy Cameras’ by Kevin Meredith (aka lomokev). As I was having (just another) hell-ish day at work, I couldn’t wait til I get home to sip some coffee (no beer!) and enjoy browsing it. It is a very nicely designed book, filled with lots of information about toy cameras as well as lots and lots of photos taken by those cameras. Ahem! Ermm … I was invited to contribute some photos for the Diana Multi Pinhole camera section! 😀 It feels so… >> read more

Cyan Shine Shines!

Written by • Dec 13th, 2010 • Category: Others
A friend from Lomography recently updated me about this Cyan Shine Magazine which caters to the lomography, lo-fi, analog & film crowd. They’ve just launched Issue #0 and it is available for download now (in PDF format). I downloaded it last night and I must say I’m pretty impressed with the contents. Lots and lots of beautiful cool photos and it is not peppered with adverts or some zzzzzzzz text. It features great photos from lots of great Lomographers/analogue lovers. The download (of the softcopy magazine) is a little slow… >> read more

Look Who’s Baking!

Got a little surprise just now when picking Fitzand up from the childcare center. The teacher showed me a page from a magazine and there right in front of my eyes … my Fitzand! Coolness eh? Then I suddenly remembered there was this lady going around interviewing parents during one of the event and I guess she’s writing for this. Too bad I don’t like to answer interview questions (doing it online is a bit okay though) and thus the short (super short) session with me probably ended up in… >> read more

Dressing Up The LC-A+

Written by • Jan 7th, 2010 • Category: Others
Not too long ago, I read that Lomography is inviting submissions of designs for a special edition LC-A+ camera and we are allowed to use all sorts of ideas, material etc etc to come out with our own versions of the camera. Not having any knowledge in designing nor good at it … I still thought I could try shove in a couple of ideas and see if miracles can happen. Hahaha! Winning a trip to Lomo HQ in Vienna and a few copies of the camera … are good… >> read more

Ugh!! See Me Smile!

Written by • Sep 9th, 2009 • Category: Others
Woke up around 630am this morning trying to capture a short video clip of the sunrise. Not actually of the sun rising but of the scene outside my window. Will post the video and talk about it later. Anyway … right after the sky turned bright, on my way for my morning coffee (yeah a little early today because Fitzand has to be at the childcare before 830am … they are going on a excursion to the Army Museum today) … in came a SMS. It said ‘Dude … check… >> read more

Toys For Boys

Written by • Aug 6th, 2009 • Category: Toys
Fitzand is a fan of Bob The Builder and has been telling me that he wants a toy of that blue colored crane (is that what you call it?). A couple of attempts to find it in Toys’R’Us failed and one of the toy shops had only Scoop (the yellow one) and Muck (the orange cement mixer). Finally I found this set of 6 on the local eBay and spent about 1.5 hours driving to collect it from a seller staying at the other end of Singapore. Of course Fitzand… >> read more
