Belair Test Run

Written by • Dec 23rd, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
It has been weeks since my Belair Globe-trotter arrived and I finally got the test roll developed in the bathroom after dinner and scanned it. What do I think of this pretty neat looking camera? Since I don’t feel like typing much now … I generated some memes to do the explanation …… >> read more

Diana Returns!

Written by • May 24th, 2012 • Category: Fun with film
Friends found it hard to believe when I told them that I shot only about a roll of 120 on my Diana F+ and maybe 15 frames on my LC-A+ during my recent vacation to Taiwan. It is not that I wasn’t trigger happy but … the *cough cough* truth is … I was spending too much time playing with the X-Pro1. Okay … let’s not talk about the X-Pro1 for now. There were some frames left in a roll that I loaded into my Diana F+ and it was… >> read more

iPhone Poison Again!

Written by • Dec 21st, 2011 • Category: Others
Let me start by saying (again) that I ain’t no Apple hater. I use an Android phone & tablet yet I am using Apple products for my desktop and notebook. The only one thing I don’t seem to wanna get from Apple is the iPhone. However … every now and then something comes along and makes me go ‘hmm … maybe I should get one!’. This is one of them … Neat stuff eh? The Gizmon iCA seems to be some attachment that turns an iPhone into ermm … a… >> read more

That Other Roll

Written by • Dec 12th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
The first self developed roll of 120 film ended up in quite a mess two days ago and luckily I told myself to not develop that other roll (these 2 were test rolls on the GF670 with Rollei Retro 400 film) that same day. One day later … I took a deep breath and gave it another go … this time telling myself to be a little patient and careful when rolling the film onto the plastic spool. It wasn’t any easier (rolling the film) this second attempt. I ended… >> read more

Roll Of Disaster

Written by • Dec 11th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
After a successful attempt at DIY developing my first roll of 35mm black & white film recently, I took a risk (it is always a risk for a clumsy guy like me) and attempted doing the same for a roll of 120 film. This is one of two test rolls (Rollei Retro 400) I took randomly to test out my GF670. I’ll talk about the camera later on. Notice the white patch on the bottom right of the photo above? Okay … here’s the whole story. Loading the 120 film… >> read more

Smelly & Sexy

Written by • Jun 7th, 2011 • Category: Toys
I am guilty of probably owning more bags than my wife and after a long search for a leather bag that is old, still in good condition, of the right size, smelling bad and doesn’t look too ‘wow’ … my prayers were answered when the famous Mijonju (you must be shot if you love analogue/toy cameras and do not know him already but anyway … he’s the famous young man who gives us The Mijonju Show) put this old leather bag (one that he bought used too) up for sale.… >> read more

X-100 All Dressed Up

Written by • May 23rd, 2011 • Category: Toys
Finally time to post some photos of my X-100 … all ‘dressed up’ and looking pretty. Yeah I know … I know … it ain’t a rangefinder but just a ‘Casio rangefinder’ (a friend calls it that) that tries to look like a retro camera. 😀 Let’s not go there. Sorry if the colors of the case looks different in all the photos. Hahaha! I was in a rush to go fetch my boy from school and had only 5 minutes to snap some photos without much time to mess… >> read more

Ultra Short Trailer

Written by • Sep 13th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
This is something I thought I would just post in my Facebook for fun but since I’ve made the effort to put it together … I thought I might as well post it here in my blog. Unlike my other videos that waste many minutes of your life watching … this one is super ultra short and I guess you won’t be complaining. 😀 I was just killing time during the weekend when Fitzand was taking his nap and shot a few short video clips with my Pentax K-x and… >> read more

Digital Poison 2

Written by • Nov 11th, 2009 • Category: Toys
Not too long after the cute Digital Harinezumi was causing lots of drooling within the low-fi/toy camera community … out comes some rumours about a new version of it. Those guys from Four Corners Dark has just released official details about this new Digital Harinezumi 2. It now features sound recording capability as well as a new 3mp sensor. Other details about it are … Increased sensitivity to indoor lighting Close up/macro mode now goes as close as 4cm (Damn! This is tempting!!!) Moriyama black & white style (Argh! I… >> read more

Holga Has A Digital Cousin?

Written by • Oct 7th, 2009 • Category: Others
A friend sent me a link to this Yashica EZ F521 camera and at first look … I thought it is another plastic old film camera. Checking out the details, it seems this retro looking camera is a digital one! It has a 5 megapixel sensor, 2.4 inch LCD, auto ISO setting and a lens that reminds us of the good old Holga camera. Focusing seems to be manual … note the mountain and flower icons on the side of the lens. It runs on AA batteries, shoots 640×480 video… >> read more
