RX100 Skinned

Written by • Oct 10th, 2012 • Category: Toys
Probably the only ‘problem’ I find with the Sony DSC-RX100 … the way too slippery matt black surface of the camera body. Maybe it is just my fat clumsy fingers but I sure wished it has some form of rubber/leather skin to make holding it easier. Of course to be safe … I always use a wrist strap with it. I saw some shots (here in Singapore) selling some skins (not sure if they are leather or rubber though) but from the photos I saw (of the cam and skin)… >> read more

Partner For My 50mm

Written by • Oct 11th, 2011 • Category: Toys
After some waiting … finally found a small & solid SLR to partner my 50mm manual lens. Some local seller eventually lowered his asking price for this minty Pentax LX … and the green covering on it is a bonus! 😀 “It is a SLR which has its body structure made of rugged, die cast aluminum-alloy and equipped with a very reliable horizontally traveled Titanium electro-mechanical shutter, which provides a range of variable mechanical shutter speeds that will still be functional and withstanding temperatures down to -30C even in a… >> read more

X-100 All Dressed Up

Written by • May 23rd, 2011 • Category: Toys
Finally time to post some photos of my X-100 … all ‘dressed up’ and looking pretty. Yeah I know … I know … it ain’t a rangefinder but just a ‘Casio rangefinder’ (a friend calls it that) that tries to look like a retro camera. 😀 Let’s not go there. Sorry if the colors of the case looks different in all the photos. Hahaha! I was in a rush to go fetch my boy from school and had only 5 minutes to snap some photos without much time to mess… >> read more

Oh Phew!!!

Phew!!!! It is Friday night and this must be one of the happiest one in quite a long time. Finally I can take a week off from work and go for a short trip … away from the crazy stack of work that is after me. I’ve yet to pack my stuffs but luckily I still have tomorrow to do so. Guess I’ll have a hard time deciding which camme to bring along because travelling with an active boy on a free & easy trip … isn’t that all easy.… >> read more

Fun, Cold, Poison : Over??

Written by • Apr 30th, 2010 • Category: Others
My daily updates during that week long vacation in Tokyo somehow stopped at day 4. Not that I didn’t take any photos after that … but I was spending more time playing (aka killing my old fat body) with Fitzand and usually by the time he goes to bed … I was too tired to go through the photos. Anyway … I’ll post some photos later during the weekend. Plane touched down around 1am and somehow I can’t get to sleep (it is past 3am now!). OMG! I’ll be pretty… >> read more

17 April 2010

It was pretty strange that I fell asleep before 11pm last night. I woke up feeling great and had to meet someone to sell off my last DSLR lens at 1030am. Since wifey was still sleeping, I brought Fitzand along for breakfast and then met up with the buyer and said goodbye to my last DSLR lens. 😀 Now all I’ve left is a flash to sell. It is always fun going out with just myself & Fitzand. He enjoyed his pancake for breakfast. Thanks to the ‘Super Sleuths’ from… >> read more

Cutie And Yummy

Written by • Mar 9th, 2010 • Category: Others
After the recent cool ‘gold metal’ skin by Gariz for the Olympus E-P1, along comes a super cute and colorful one that I find very very interesting. A little too cute for an old man like me and if I ever get my E-P1 dressed up like this … it will definitely end up in Fitzand’s hands for good. The same company also has a big time poison which I am very afraid of. It is a tilt-shift adapter for the E-P1/E-P2. The website is in Japanese but I think… >> read more

Photographiques customises?

Written by • Dec 24th, 2009 • Category: Others
It wasn’t long ago that I did this interview with Catherine who runs a photography website (in French) … mostly about those ‘dressed up’/customized Holga cameras I used to do. Looking back … it has been a long long while since I’ve worked on any new design for the Holga cams and I promise myself to find time to work on few more designs in 2010. It is not that I’ve no new ideas to do them … but it is always the lack of time in life. Hahaha. How… >> read more

Go For Gold

Written by • Dec 19th, 2009 • Category: Toys
After seeing some of those ‘skins’ available for the Olympus E-P1, I wasn’t really impressed with any of those. They have those ‘leather’ skins (black ones seem to go well with the silver E-P1 though) and some have those ‘wooden’ pattern on them. The one that made me went ‘wow’ was one I saw today from a company in Korea called Gariz. They have this ‘metal sticker’ that’s gold in color and has some neat graphics on then. That company seems to make other stickers for other cameras and gadgets… >> read more

LA3

A couple of hours ago, I struggled for some time trying to get my laptop skin installed right. Perhaps I am just too fussy, I ended up removing it and sticking it back … several times! Luckily these stuffs are pretty good and stick well even after you remove it (carefully). Anyway, right after that … despite my fuzzy eyes being pretty tired already … I decided to work on ‘dressing up’ a Diana+ camera. So I picked up the Edelweiss and started working on it using some other leftover… >> read more
