Battle Of The Wides

Written by • Jul 23rd, 2011 • Category: Others
Some friends asked me about which Lomo/toy camera should they go for if they wanna shoot wide. In the past, I’d tell them to either get the LC-A+ with the wide angle lens attachment or the (way cheaper but needs lots more light and careful usage) Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim (UWS) (also rebranded as the Superheadz’s Wide Lens Camera). Now with the introduction of few newer cameras from Lomography, it is harder to answer that question (which wide angle cam to go for). We now have the LC-Wide, La… >> read more

Pop Goes The Rocket

There is no doubt that the Sprocket Rocket is one fun camera and after turning my original black version gold (as a birthday present), I bought the white edition as I thought it looks neat. Now Lomography has gone wild again by turning this sleek camera … ermm … very colorful. This somehow reminds me of what they did to their Fisheye camera in the past but I’m sure some of you might love the very ‘hot’ colors. I like the orange version. No … I am NOT gonna buy… >> read more

White Rocket, Silver Pancake

After a recent ‘brave’ attempt at converting my black Sprocket Rocket to gold … I was on the hunt for a replacement and Cindy (from ThirtySix) asked me why not wait a couple more days for the white version to arrive. White? Special white edition? Costs more? Grrr!!! How can I ever say ‘no’ to Queen Cyanwater? 😀 Okay … so I collected it a couple of weeks ago but was too busy to unbox it until tonight. Here are some snapshots of it … As you can see …… >> read more

Double Processed Rocket

Something pretty funny (and scary) happened at the photo lab today when I dropped by to collect a roll of Provia 400X shot with my Sprocket Rocket recently. I usually lurk outside the lab until the boss gives me the thumbs up … then I’ll crawl in only when the processing is ready. Today … while I was having a puff outside the lab … the boss appeared suddenly with a small pail … and in it was a the entire roll of developed negatives (the one I sent it!).… >> read more

Rocketing In Taiwan : 2

The last roll from the Sprocket Rocket for the trip. As the weather/lighting was pretty crazy/bad, loading a roll of Lomo Xpro 200 slides on the Rocket was a little risky. Fortunately we were in Taichung during that time and the sun was (a little bit) more ‘helpful’. Still there were some ‘forced doubles’ due to bad lighting. Glad most of the shots turned out fine. 😀 I kinda like the doubles in this roll! Fitzand posing with his new soft toy and train … After finish scanning this roll… >> read more

Rocketing In Taiwan : 1

The Lomography’s latest ‘toy’ … the Sprocket Rocket wasn’t one of the product that made me super excited nor did I rush to grab one. Our friendly (not very pocket-friendly though) people from ThirtySix buzzed me and told me that they reserved one for me (!!!) and stocks were in … the week before I flew off to Taiwan for my vacation. So I dropped by the shop, picked up the Sprocket Rocket (darn long name and I’ll just call it Rocket from now on) and decided to bring it… >> read more

Oh Phew!!!

Phew!!!! It is Friday night and this must be one of the happiest one in quite a long time. Finally I can take a week off from work and go for a short trip … away from the crazy stack of work that is after me. I’ve yet to pack my stuffs but luckily I still have tomorrow to do so. Guess I’ll have a hard time deciding which camme to bring along because travelling with an active boy on a free & easy trip … isn’t that all easy.… >> read more
