Skinny Santa Sent Cammie

Written by • Dec 17th, 2011 • Category: Toys
One year ago … those awesome people from ThirtySix gave me a super duper surprise when they gave me the Wrangler special edition Diana F+ for Christmas. That camera was meant to be a prize for some competition and they managed to hunt one down for me (which they still refuse to tell me how they did it). This year … last night … I met up with Jimmy for some beer at a barbeque session and after some beer … he turned into the skinniest Santa ever and gave… >> read more

Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas!!! Some find it hard to believe that I turned down invitations to go grab some beer last night (on Xmas eve) but it is very true that I made the decision to spend the evening at home with my family instead. Good boy eh? 😀 We just got back from some shopping and lunch at Orchard Rd and Fitzand got himself some new toys as early birthday presents. It is about 2 weeks to go til his 4th birthday but we decided to let him pick his presents… >> read more

The Performance

Written by • Dec 21st, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
The ‘big day’ finally came and I managed to capture some clips of the kiddos performing at the childcare. As expected … it was pretty different from the rehearsal clips as kids go crying and some panic in the presence of parents. Hahaha! I was too lazy to put together these clips but after Fitzand woke me up at 3am this morning and I couldn’t get back to sleep … I spent about an hour to piece together this short video …… >> read more

Look What I Bagged This Xmas

Written by • Dec 26th, 2009 • Category: Toys
This must be the coolest X’mas ever! I got this present from my wife and she told me to stop using that boring little black camera bag (a small Domke) because it looks so boring. Hahaha! Yay! It’s a Herringbone VOL leather camera bag! Cool! Well she didn’t actually pick it herself but got me to find myself one that I like. Not wanting to spend too much, I settled for a minty used condition one from a photography forum’s buy/sell section. I’ve quite many camera bags in my storeroom,… >> read more

Welcome Home 120

Written by • Dec 25th, 2009 • Category: Fun with film
After a long absence from shooting 120 film, this roll of Agfa Portrait 160 loaded into my Holga was supposed to be a ‘welcome’ back for me into the world of medium format. I’ll be shooting much more using 120 film come 2010. What was supposed to be a few rolls of images shot in Malaysia few weeks back … ended up only half a roll was completed. These first few were taken when were we in Kuala Lumpur … This one below is my favourite from the roll. Nevermind… >> read more

Approaching Christmas

I’m on leave today to attend a short X’mas party at the childcare center that Fitzand attends. He was so excited (I’m sure it’s all ’bout the present) and after breakfast, he checked into the childcare while I waited for the ‘party’ to begin around 9:45am. It was awesome to be amongst the many cute kiddos although it was a bit chaotic because of the number of kids + parents present. I decided to video his ‘performances’ instead of photos but I was stumbling with my camera because I’ve hardly… >> read more

My Mini Photographer

Written by • Dec 20th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
My favourite ‘model’ is actually a big photography lover himself. Brought my family out for some Xmas shopping today and before we left home … Fitzand told me that he wanted to bring his camera along. I was a little worried when he said ‘my camera’. Why? Hahaha. It was not too long ago that he referred my Lomo LC-A+ camera as ‘my camera’ after I let him shoot a roll on it. *sweats* Phew. Thank God he was referring to the Little Tikes digital camera for kids instead. He… >> read more

When The Children Rule The World

Written by • Dec 15th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
Loaded my Holga and thought I’d be shooting a couple of rolls during my trip to Malaysia … but I ended up only firing maybe 5 shots after a whole week! I ended up shooting mostly videos using the Harinezumi 2 and now I’ve to spend time sorting out the short video clips. Duh. After the short video clip featuring macro subjects, here is one that I randomly did … with Fitzand and his cousin sister … Zaydeen as my ‘models’. Guess they both had a great time playing (and… >> read more

My Babies

Written by • Dec 2nd, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
Last week we had the opportunity to go for a short open-top bus ride along Orchard Road to view the Christmas lightings. Fitzand was going ‘yahooo! yippeee!’ all the way and I was busy trying to get some decent shots on the moving bus. I had my Lensbaby Composer with me and used a custom aperture disc like what I did last year for some fun and cool photos. Somehow I ended up with only two photos that I like. Maybe after the bunch of photos last year that are… >> read more

Festive Doubles

Written by • Nov 22nd, 2009 • Category: Fun with film
Lomography contacted me recently … asking if I could so a ‘tipster’ thingie for their festive newsletter. Well … originally I agreed to perhaps do something like a ’36 frames’ tipster entry but gave up after a while. I just couldn’t find time to really shoot 36 themes. So I had to work on another idea and one evening while sitting in front of my computer munching chips … I thought of this. I’ll maybe post more about how I did these (though it probably ain’t hard to figure it… >> read more
