Tokyo : The Streets 1

I know many will frown when they hear this. I am sure there will be questions like ‘Why not shoot in normal color mode and then Photoshop them later?’. Really. Hahaha! Strange but true … I love that ‘Grainy Black & White’ mode in the Olympus E-P1/E-PL1. I decided to try travel a little lighter and brought my friend’s E-PL1 for this trip and perhaps I’ll just buy it from him when I get back home (I’m sure he’s grinning now). This little camera is way better for street photography than my white E-P1. I can go around holding it without a strap and even able to take photos while carrying Fitzand in my other arm.

Oh … I think I went off topic. Back to the Grainy B&W art filter. I decided to shoot all the photos (except those of Fitzand and some shots to document stuffs like yummies) and so these are the results … some many photos from the streets. These photos are all straight out from the camera and just resized. I hate spending time on Photoshop and this is the only way out. 😛 I paired the E-PL1 with the Lumix 20mm lens and that’s like 40mm focal length. My old habit of liking the thrill to go real close to the subjects was still possible since 40mm still is pretty wide.

I do have my film cameras with me but that ain’t too good for tons of crazy snaps in a day. These are just the first set of street photos out of the many I took. More to come later the next few days (if I can find internet access). I have enjoyed taking these snapshots lots … even much more than those days when I tried to take some perfect digital photos and work them in post-process later. 😀
