Thank you, Blackbird

After a rather disappointing test roll on a sample unit of the Blackbird, Fly camera … I popped in a roll of Kodak BW400CN film into my own birdie (stop grinning … I mean the Blackbird, Fly camera!) and was hoping it will turn out fine this time. Took it on a trip to Malaysia when I went back to visit my folks, I suddenly decided to do a double exposure roll … with myself! So I finished taking the entire roll of a same subject … a big wooden plank(!) and then reloaded the roll for the 2nd exposure.

Didn’t manage to finish the roll in Malaysia, so lugged it back and it took me another 2 weeks to finish it. In the end, probably 1/3 of the photos turned out okay. Most of them were underexposed as I fired many shots in low light condition (even in a pub!). Guess I’ll have to try ISO1600 film next time.

Anyway, I was very happy to see how some of the shots turn out. The double exposure made some of them look pretty eerie and retro and I ended up regretting not taking it a little bit more seriously and get more decent shots outta the roll.
