A Night With The LC-W

Written by • May 29th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Sitting here at my desk at 2:05am … not long after returning from a fun evening (long one!) out with Jimmy & Noreen (from ThirtySix). I dropped by ThirtySix to collect some film and we decided to go grab a quick dinner and then go test out the Lomo LC-W. I am not one who has the patience to do nite (long exposures!!! zzzz) shooting but since I was out already … I thought I could give it a go. Honestly … my biggest problem was figuring out the correct… >> read more

Fisheyed + Redscaled Planes

Written by • May 27th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Got a little too trigger happy yesterday at the Air Force open house preview and burned a roll of redscale film loaded in my Pentax MZ-30 coupled with the Lensbaby Scout + fisheye optic combo. It was a super darn hot day but somehow the roll still turned out underexposed. Bah! Well at least I know the next time I use redscale on the cam … I’ll probably compensate the exposure by +1 (or is it +2?). I was a little disappointed after scanning the first two shots but then… >> read more

White Rocket, Silver Pancake

Written by • May 22nd, 2011 • Category: Toys
After a recent ‘brave’ attempt at converting my black Sprocket Rocket to gold … I was on the hunt for a replacement and Cindy (from ThirtySix) asked me why not wait a couple more days for the white version to arrive. White? Special white edition? Costs more? Grrr!!! How can I ever say ‘no’ to Queen Cyanwater? 😀 Okay … so I collected it a couple of weeks ago but was too busy to unbox it until tonight. Here are some snapshots of it … As you can see …… >> read more

LC-A+ Gone Wide

Written by • May 19th, 2011 • Category: Others
Lomography as usual … got people all excited about a ‘mystery’ product and finally here it is … the Lomo LC-Wide. Seem that the classic LC-A+ has ‘mutated’ into something a lot different … boasting a newly-developed 17mm Minigon Ultra-Wide Angle lens … allows shooting in full frame, square as well as half frame formats. I was wondering what the two red parts are for and after a while … it seems that they are just part of the design. Not some buttons that you can press. Is that right… >> read more

Pentax MZ-3 : Test Run

Written by • May 9th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Finally a roll of Lomo Xpro 100 loaded into a Pentax MZ-3 I bought some time ago to maximize the use of my 43mm lens is done, developed and scanned. 😀 I was pretty confident the camera body will work great as I picked it up from an old friend and since it is an autofocus one … shooting was real easy and fun. What puzzled me (and still is) was that even though I set the lens to f1.9 … the display on the camera showed f2.0. Perhaps there… >> read more

36 In 12 : Are You Ready?

Written by • Mar 23rd, 2011 • Category: Others
The response to the ’36 In 12′ challenge (part of the 36 Frames projects I did some time ago) that I posted a few days ago was awesome! I even lost track of how many people who are into this fun challenge but hey … that doesn’t matter. What matters most is that everyone who expressed interest to join the fun on this coming weekend … the 27th of March 2011 to be precise … shoots and send me their photos afterwards. I get all stressed up when trying to… >> read more

36 In 12 : The Challenge

Written by • Mar 19th, 2011 • Category: Others
It has been a while since I’ve done the Thirty Six Frames challenge and I’m wondering if anyone will be interested to join me on another exciting (and sometimes stressful) one … this time … still shooting 36 frames but with a different theme/idea. Been toying around with this idea for a while now but I’ve yet to even try doing it myself (before inviting friends to join the fun). So … here is how it goes … Capturing what we do in 12 hours We shall pick a specific… >> read more

How To : Strip In Strips

Written by • Feb 24th, 2011 • Category: Others
I received several emails asking how exactly I took those photos in the recent ‘Strip In Strips‘ entry and since I ain’t good with words … and even worse at describing things … I thought why not I try use some images to try explain it. Since this is a double exposure thingie … first you need to make sure you compensate exposure accordingly … like how you would normally do (when doing double exposures). For the first exposure … I took photos of a film strip. For best result… >> read more

For those who love Lomography or old school analogue photography here in Singapore, finally the Malaysian made movie that you will love to check out is here! Cyan Shine Shines!

Written by • Dec 13th, 2010 • Category: Others
A friend from Lomography recently updated me about this Cyan Shine Magazine which caters to the lomography, lo-fi, analog & film crowd. They’ve just launched Issue #0 and it is available for download now (in PDF format). I downloaded it last night and I must say I’m pretty impressed with the contents. Lots and lots of beautiful cool photos and it is not peppered with adverts or some zzzzzzzz text. It features great photos from lots of great Lomographers/analogue lovers. The download (of the softcopy magazine) is a little slow… >> read more
