About Keri

Written by • May 21st, 2012 • Category: Someone : About

It has been a long time since I’ve done any feature/interview for the ‘About Someone’ section and when I decided to invite someone to participate in this next one … I immediately thought of this photographer I got to know through Lensbaby some years back.
Some of you might remember reading about her works in one of my blog entry about her photo book, Portland Vignettes.

I’m a big fan of her works!
A brief intro taken from her website …
“Keri Friedman is a photographer living in Portland, OR.… >> read more

Ello Elephant!

Written by • Nov 29th, 2011 • Category: Others

The Elephant Parade is here and when we were out shopping last weekend, after checking out the numerous awesome designs (on the elephants) … Fitzand was attracted by a mini elephant sculpture painting activity in a corner. Luckily he preferred to paint one at home … otherwise I might have to wait there for hours before he can finish one. That is if he has the patience to sit there that long. Anyway … we picked up a blank elephant sculpture and headed home. I saved ten bucks because we… >> read more

Summer Is Here!

Written by • Dec 23rd, 2010 • Category: Others

About a month (or was it two?) ago … while chatting with a friend about dressing up Holga cameras, she asked if I’d be interested to help her do one as a present for a friend of hers. While I usually do not like the idea of having deadlines for doing such things (there is enough bloody deadlines at work!), I somehow agreed. We agreed on a certain fee to cover the camera, the materials and of course a few jugs of espresso to keep me awake … and the… >> read more

FACES By Miun

Written by • Oct 18th, 2010 • Category: Others

From the hands of the very talented friend, Noreen (aka Miun) … the artist who made me my coffin *cough* … here comes a very interesting exhibition that I thought many of you might be interested. I’ll be checking it out this coming weekend with my family and perhaps pick up an eye or two … or perhaps a mouth or nose?

the little drom store presents ‘F A C E S’ by illustrator/artist Miun
Faces is an interactive, conceptual artwork exploring human faces.
Limited hand-sewn eye, nose and mouth… >> read more

RF Introduction

Written by • Jul 19th, 2010 • Category: Lead Story

For those who are interested in picking up a rangefinder camera or those who are just curious about what a rangefinder is all about, there will be a rangefinder introduction showcase and talk on the 6th August 2010 at the Glass Hall, Singapore Art Museum. I ain’t part of this community (yet) because I ain’t got no rangefinder camera … but just helping a friend spread the word (and poison). I’m wondering if I can find time to attend it but at the same time … I’m worried about my… >> read more

Coca Kola?

Written by • Jun 4th, 2010 • Category: Others

UPDATE
Sorry for the mistake but I was just informed that the retail price of this product should be around US$12 to US$15. I made a mistake about the pricing when I posted this. Sorry for the confusion. Stay tuned for more test photos.
A package arrived this morning and I was a little surprised because I don’t remember buying any new toy online (unless I did it in my sleep) and in it were some samples of a pretty new product from Thailand … called ‘Kola Manual Color Flash’.… >> read more

Instant Back @ SSC

Written by • May 30th, 2010 • Category: Fun with film

Yes there will be some photos I took using the LC-A+ and the instant back in this post. They will be at the end of this entry … just in case you are wondering why on earth you don’t see them after scrolling (a bit) down. I’ll leave them at the end of the post to make sure you see my digital ones. Hahaha! Nah! Joking.
Anyway … since there is this Pixar’s ’20 years of animation’ going on at the Science Center, we decided to bring Fitzand there for… >> read more

Panic! Yay!

Written by • May 11th, 2010 • Category: Others

I remember blogging about helping out a friend to photograph some of her amazing floral art work for submission to the International Floral Art 2010-2011 call for entries. Honestly … I don’t know crap about floral stuffs and I didn’t know such publication exists … until Noreen showed it to me (the previous editions). Online sources says that “the aim of this biannual publication is to document the world’s most original and innovative floral art.”
It was not until I flipped through the previous editions that I began to worry.… >> read more

It Starts With A Can

Written by • Apr 8th, 2010 • Category: Others

These are probably the strangest things that arrived at my home today while I was at work …

Nah! I didn’t order Red Bull by the tons (although I do need tons of beer). These empty cans arrived today because I signed up for the Art Of Can event (details here) and was supposed to go collect these empty cans from their office … but somehow I just didn’t wanna take time off from work just to go get them. Yeah … collection was during office hours only. Fortunately I… >> read more

Blur Is Perfect!

Written by • Apr 6th, 2010 • Category: Others

A couple of weeks ago, I came across this really cool photo book at FourCornersDark website and from a few sample pages … I fell in love with it. Blurfect. Yeah! Blur! Blur is beautiful and I’m a sucker for such photos. The book layout is simple yet elegant … and costs only US$10 each. It states in the website that there is a ‘Edition of 100-signed/numbered’ copies but I don’t know if there are only 100 of them for sale. I got number 53 and 55 in the mail… >> read more
