The Butcher Is King

Written by • Jan 17th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
“In the land of the pig, the butcher is king” Brought my family for breakfast and some shopping along Orchard Rd yesterday and while lurking around ION Orchard, Fitzand saw some posters of some cute pigs and told us that he wants them. Pigs? They are actually piggy shaped buns found in a Chinese restaurant upstairs. After some shopping, we bought him there and he was thrilled to see the ‘piggies’. LOL! The cute round piggies costs S$3 for two. Fitzand tried feeding them with cashew nut. LOL! Enough feeding… >> read more

Camera Away!

Another weekend came and is almost gone. Spent some time this weekend planning and doing some test shots for my personal photo project and of course most of the time went into quality time with my family. I didn’t shoot much this weekend (except for the test shots) but next weekend will probably see some action put into my photo project. Brought Fitzand to the park nearby for breakfast, followed by a cycling session (with me running after him!) before heading home before noon. My brother from Malaysia (in Kuala… >> read more

Got Dog, Got Lalang

Written by • Jan 1st, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
The title of this blog entry is inspired by Irorus who replied in my other entry (Fireworks : NY Eve 2010). For those who are wondering what ‘lalang’ is … they are actually those ermm … long-ish grass. Ermm … I don’t know what they’re called but ‘lalang’ is a Malay name for it. She posted that comment before I managed to post up this blog entry … and so I ‘stole’ the title from her comment. Hahaha! My favourite shot of the day. The main ‘model’ is my friend’s… >> read more

Ugly Lens, Ugly Food

Written by • Nov 23rd, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
I was out early in the morning on Saturday to view/shoot the sunrise again. This time we decided to park out butts at the Merlion Park instead of the usual sunrise shoots at the beach. That morning I didn’t really shoot much but spent more time slacking and testing out this lens that I bought used recently. It is a very funny and weird looking little lens for my Olympus E-P1. This Pentax 25mm f1.4 lens is a manual focus lens that produces photos that are pretty sharp in the… >> read more

20mm Weekend

Written by • Oct 18th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
Just the other day, a friend was trying to tell me that time seems to be flying fast than ever … because of some stuffs that I can’t comprehend (or give a damn). All I know is the darn weekends do zoom past like there is no tomorrow! Argh! Here I am behind my computer … blogging (and bitching) about another weekend gone by … but I’m sure from tomorrow onwards (Monday!) … time behind the desk will be crawling slower than ever. 🙁 Yesterday was the World Toy Camera… >> read more

Watermelon Feast

Written by • Aug 30th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
A rainy Sunday and we’re stuck at home. Went to stock up on some groceries at the market this morning and thought maybe we could get a watermelon for Fitzand. Of course he ain’t gonna get the entire watermelon … but this is gonna be his first taste of munching juicy watermelon the fun way. He had fun and enjoyed it lots. He didn’t really finish the big ‘slice’ though. Hope the rain stop soon and the sun better come shining soon … we hope to be able to bring… >> read more

Gr8 Sunday!

Written by • Aug 16th, 2009 • Category: Others
Trying hard to stay sober (reason available somewhere at the end of this entry) and post this usual Sunday night’s ‘weekend summary’. There are quite a lot of photos in this entry … I know … but I just didn’t know what to do with the photos I took. Hahaha! We were supposed to join some friends on a visit to the Science Center but changed plan last minute. So early morning we brought Fitzand on train ride to Orchard Rd. for breakfast and of course some shopping later. We… >> read more

25 July 09

After a pretty disappointing dinner last night (beer was great though), I made up for it with a hot bowl of ramen and some sushi (I only take sushi without seafood!) for breakfast. Last night’s dinner at Liquid Kitchen was pretty yucky … a dry and tough roasted spring (maybe they were referring to metal springs?) chicken and what killed my mood was my goddamn maid again. As usual she’ll sit there looking like an imbecile and not looking after Fitzand much when he was eating. He got frustrated and… >> read more

Desperate Test Shots

Written by • Jul 11th, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
Brought my family out for dim sum breakfast at Chinatown this morning and lugged my E-P1 along hoping to be able to take some (more) test shots. Fortunately we arrived at the restaurant earlier and there wasn’t too big a crowd yet. Fitzand had lots of prawns and seemed to enjoy eating ‘xiao long pao’ (some steamed chinese dumpling) and later he was busy playing near the entrance where there were some drums and a gong there. Auto focus was fast indoors even when lighting wasn’t that good. The 17mm… >> read more

Happy Vs Pissed

Written by • Jun 28th, 2009 • Category: Others
A pretty crazy day of happy moments and moments of pure anger. Started the day really great by bringing Fitzand alone to the Esplanade and then visiting the Merlion before breakfast at The Coffee Bean. It’s not his first visit to the Merlion but since he told me he wants to go see it again … I don’t see why not. Weather was crazy. It got really hot at around 10am but when we finished breakfast about half an hour later … the sky looked like it was ready to… >> read more
