Written by • Jul 4th, 2011 • Category: Others
Received an email from Bill … the co-founder & editor of Composing With Images Press and thought this might interest some of you toy camera fans out there. Not only your masterpieces has the chance to be included in a photo book … but you are also doing a great part in helping raise fund to help others. Composing with Images Press (CWiP) seeks photographs taken with toy cameras for a forthcoming photo book that explores, complicates, and represents in compelling ways the concept of Play. Summer Is Here!

Written by • Dec 23rd, 2010 • Category: Others
About a month (or was it two?) ago … while chatting with a friend about dressing up Holga cameras, she asked if I’d be interested to help her do one as a present for a friend of hers. While I usually do not like the idea of having deadlines for doing such things (there is enough bloody deadlines at work!), I somehow agreed. We agreed on a certain fee to cover the camera, the materials and of course a few jugs of espresso to keep me awake … and the… >> read more

Horses, Eggs, Fun & Beer

Written by • Mar 13th, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
Finally I remembered to make reservations at Rider’s Cafe and brought my family there early this morning for breakfast. Little Fitzand was jumping with joy to be able to see horses again. We spent quite some time there sitting at the balcony and then took a short stroll around to let Fitzand see the horses. Just hope he won’t ever ask me for one! Our first time there and we are sure we’ll be back again real soon. Perhaps next time we’ll try getting there earlier around 8:30am when it… >> read more

The World We Created?

Written by • Sep 23rd, 2009 • Category: Others
I paused for a long while after watching this video someone sent me. Just moments ago, I walked out from Toys ‘R’ Us with a bag of new toys for Fitzand and now … I’m watching these children struggling to stay alive. I felt like a bomb. I felt really sad. I wondered how many more children like them are suffering out there. It is always good to have people filming such videos to not only raise awareness, but also to remind the rest of us that we are already… >> read more

Charity Sale (Updated)

Written by • Jun 23rd, 2009 • Category: Others
UPDATE 21 Oct 2011 – “She is pain free and she gave us her parting smile.” were the words in her blog that made me real upset this morning. Charmaine has left us but I’m sure she is now in a better world than this. I do not personally know her or her family but on behalf of them, I’d like to thank all those who has helped the family in this ‘fight’. No … we didn’t lose. Charmaine was strong and she won herself a flight to a more… >> read more

Disposables

Written by • May 30th, 2009 • Category: Others
Just received a delivery of this colony of disposable cameras and couldn’t resist taking a photo of them. These are actually for a community/charity event that I agreed to sponsor (the cameras only). It’s always a great thing to share the fun of photography with those less fortunate and I hope the event will be a success. Tentatively the event date will be around mid July and I hope I’ll have time to go join and help out during the day itself. These cameras are actually meant to be distributed… >> read more

Customized Holgas : Charity sale

Written by • Oct 4th, 2008 • Category: Others
I’ve been toying with the idea of selling off these three customized Holga cameras for some time and finally, I have decided to put them out for sale here. 100% of the sales amount will go to charity of your choice. Please do consider ‘adopting’ them for charity and contact me for viewing and sale. If you are residing in Singapore, I would gladly accept cheques made payable to the charity of your choice. Overseas customers can pay me through PayPal and I’ll send you copies of the receipts once… >> read more
