Bagged Another Bag!

Written by • Sep 12th, 2011 • Category: Toys
I remember blogging about how I’ll stay away from buying another camera bag not too long ago but … well … ermm … sometimes I just can’t resist temptations. My camera bag count is hitting way above wifey’s number of bags and I probably have to find a way to properly store them instead of scattering them all over my study room (and a couple of them in the living room). This one from Wotancraft arrived today in a big box. It smells weird. It smells like it has been… >> read more

Park, Snow, Leather

Written by • Jul 24th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
There is never enough time to do everything that I want … especially on weekends. Finding time to spend with my cameras is always the biggest challenge and this weekend is no exception. I desperately took a short walk in the almost completed Bishan park (the upgrade seems to take ages!) alone and managed to cure (a little) my trigger happy habit. These are two shots taken with an old infrared converted camera. I’ve always like my IR images in black & white instead of the colored versions. Many parts… >> read more

Love The Spam!

Written by • Apr 7th, 2011 • Category: Others
Don’t you dare try spam me though. πŸ˜€ This is a ‘making of’ video for a ‘Spamera’ … a DIY pinhole camera using an empty Spam can … done by the talented Noreen (aka Miun). She told me about this little project of hers, and she was making this as a birthday present for ‘Queen’ Cyanwater … the famous Lomographer and lady boss of ThirtySix. Noreen did asked if I’d be interested to make one too … and at that time I foolishly told her I’d be interested to try… >> read more

From the hands of the very talented friend, Noreen (aka Miun) … the artist who made me my coffin *cough* … here comes a very interesting exhibition that I thought many of you might be interested. I’ll be checking it out this coming weekend with my family and perhaps pick up an eye or two … or perhaps a mouth or nose? the little drom store presents ‘F A C E S’ by illustrator/artist Miun Faces is an interactive, conceptual artwork exploring human faces. Limited hand-sewn eye, nose and mouth… >> read more

For You, ThirtySix

Written by • Oct 17th, 2010 • Category: Others
Just the other day when those guys from ThirtySix told me that they will be celebrating their shop’s 1st anniversary today … I thought of giving them a little present. Well I’m sure they have all the yummy cameras already on the shelves … so I decided to try ‘dress up’ a camera for them. The biggest problem was to come up with a design/idea immediately … then spend a night or two doing it. I had only a few nights to do it. Panic! Panic! I didn’t have time… >> read more

It Starts With A Can

Written by • Apr 8th, 2010 • Category: Others
These are probably the strangest things that arrived at my home today while I was at work … Nah! I didn’t order Red Bull by the tons (although I do need tons of beer). These empty cans arrived today because I signed up for the Art Of Can event (details here) and was supposed to go collect these empty cans from their office … but somehow I just didn’t wanna take time off from work just to go get them. Yeah … collection was during office hours only. Fortunately I… >> read more

Painter At Work

It took them quite a while to get this prize I won in the Jones Soda – Lomography contest delivered but it finally came in the mail today. The Lomo POP9 … super-duper-plasticky 9 lens camera. πŸ˜€ Spent the evening guiding and helping Fitzand complete his DIY lantern ‘project’ which actually was due today but we overlooked it. Hahaha! So it was quite a rush for us to complete it and hand it over to the teachers tomorrow. I think they are having some moon cake festival thingie going on… >> read more

Snowing In Kitchen

Written by • Aug 2nd, 2009 • Category: Digital stuffs
Following a recent ‘pizza making‘ experience … Fitzand asked us for some play dough last night and this morning … we decided to DIY some for him instead as the toy stores were not open yet. It all started with some good clean fun and later evolved into some snow storm in my kitchen … The “I am gonna do something naughty” look … *sweats* Zooooom! Up goes the dough … This is when the big time fun chaos started. He started throwing the dough real high! Poof! The dough… >> read more

Robot A Day?

Written by • Mar 5th, 2009 • Category: Others
I love crazy creative people! Came across this website where the owner makes a ‘robot’ a day! It’s hell challenging enough doing my Lensbaby Diary where I take a photo with the Lensbaby a day … this one is million times more challenging! She makes it sound pretty simple though … ‘I make robots. I post robots. That’s pretty much the whole deal.’. Hmm … wait. I don’t really know this creative person is a he or a she … since the email reads robotgod (at) robotaday (dot) com. Let’s… >> read more

Woody Holga!

Written by • Feb 3rd, 2008 • Category: Toys
It’s been raining lately and I thought my naked white Holga might feel cold. So I decided to dress her up! Introducing … the Woody Holga! Some asked me how it’s done. Well it ain’t too hard really … all you need is an adhesive sheet (saw them come in different patterns in a DIY store), a pen knife and a cutting base (unless you are ready to throw away the table you are working on). All you’ve to do is cut larger pieces for the back and front, carefully… >> read more
