Toy Lens : Fun?

Written by • Mar 5th, 2011 • Category: Digital stuffs
Since my last blog entry about the Toy Lens from SLR Magic, I got some requests for more sample photos and also a couple of questions … asking if I do find it fun. I decided to give up trying to write a review about this lens because … ermm … I can’t write well … I ain’t good at doing reviews … and ermmm …. I will just end up saying ‘Buy this lens! It is fun!’. 😀 Focal length : 26mm (52mm on m4/3) Aperture : f1.4 –… >> read more

Toy Cameras : The Book

Written by • Mar 1st, 2011 • Category: Others
The postman arrived today with a book titled ‘Toy Cameras’ by Kevin Meredith (aka lomokev). As I was having (just another) hell-ish day at work, I couldn’t wait til I get home to sip some coffee (no beer!) and enjoy browsing it. It is a very nicely designed book, filled with lots of information about toy cameras as well as lots and lots of photos taken by those cameras. Ahem! Ermm … I was invited to contribute some photos for the Diana Multi Pinhole camera section! 😀 It feels so… >> read more

It Is Still Christmas!!!

Written by • Jan 8th, 2011 • Category: Toys
Christmas is over? That’s what I thought until I went down to ThirtySix to collect my ‘girls’ after the recent Diana F+ showcase there. I went home … opened up the box … and in it was something I don’t remember passing to them. It was a box … sized like a normal Diana one … but wrapped up in some nice Lomography gift wrapper. Hmm. I thought it was a prank by those guys there but I almost screamed in excitement when I opened it up! It was a… >> read more

Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas!!! Some find it hard to believe that I turned down invitations to go grab some beer last night (on Xmas eve) but it is very true that I made the decision to spend the evening at home with my family instead. Good boy eh? 😀 We just got back from some shopping and lunch at Orchard Rd and Fitzand got himself some new toys as early birthday presents. It is about 2 weeks to go til his 4th birthday but we decided to let him pick his presents… >> read more

Creative Aperture : Test 1

Written by • May 31st, 2010 • Category: Digital stuffs
Found a couple of blank aperture discs in my drawer (for the Lensbaby) just the other day and thought it might be cool to try doing some unique ones instead of those made by using craft punchers. It can also try submitting them for the Lensbaby’s ‘Creative Aperture Kit Contest’ and try my luck there. The usual problem of not having time to go out shooting was still bugging me, so I had to try take some test shots from inside my car, at home and while waiting for wifey… >> read more

Written by • Feb 22nd, 2010 • Category: Others
For those who own the iPhone and ever wished that the camera can be better … now there is a solution. You can now mount your DSLR lenses on the iPhone. Cool ain’t it? Imagine having a cool white Canon L lens on your iPhone! Here are some photos of how the setup looks like … Madness ain’t it? 😀 He calls it the ‘Phone-O-Scope’. For more info about this ‘invention’ … check out [this link]. Don’t ask me if I’ll be trying this. I do not own an iPhone.… >> read more

Robot A Day?

Written by • Mar 5th, 2009 • Category: Others
I love crazy creative people! Came across this website where the owner makes a ‘robot’ a day! It’s hell challenging enough doing my Lensbaby Diary where I take a photo with the Lensbaby a day … this one is million times more challenging! She makes it sound pretty simple though … ‘I make robots. I post robots. That’s pretty much the whole deal.’. Hmm … wait. I don’t really know this creative person is a he or a she … since the email reads robotgod (at) robotaday (dot) com. Let’s… >> read more

DIY 4X5

Written by • Mar 3rd, 2009 • Category: Others
Nah … I didn’t DIY this camera but sharing what I saw in Sean Michael Stimac’s blog. He took 20 hours over the course of three weeks to do this cool looking 4×5 camera. I love the cool blue color on it too … reminds me of the blue version of the Golden Half camera. Although he said “I’m not a work worker and really don’t have much experience when it comes to making things, with more experience I would bet that this project would have taken a fraction  of… >> read more

Feel the curves?

Written by • Feb 26th, 2009 • Category: Others
Now this is something clever and funny. I’m always amazed at how creative and funny people can get but too bad the dude who did this got the sack. Not sure if I can pull such a stunt with the tons of software codes I go through everyday. Hmm … I could put a … hmm … better not say it, in case my boss is reading this. See it? So now is it ‘Have a Coke and a smile’ or ‘Have a cock and a smile’??? 😛 I hope… >> read more
