3 Days Away, 2 Troubles

Written by • Nov 20th, 2011 • Category: Others
Three days away from home … three (painful) days without internet access … and I reached back here in Singapore with my email account flooded with mails, my blog guestbook flooded with few spam entries trying to sell me Viagra … and in that pile of unread emails … there were two pretty ‘deadly’ ones! This first one is from a blog reader who asked if I’ll have a ‘sneak preview’ of a Holga panoramic camera (thanks, Erik!) Huh? I thought the pano camera was the old pinhole one but… >> read more

LomoKino : Roll 2

Written by • Nov 9th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Finally here it is … the ‘movie’ from the 2nd roll of film in the LomoKino. This time it is an expired roll of Fujifilm ISO 800 negatives. Luckily there is an f11 setting on the cam … otherwise it would be too bright to shoot at that film speed on the cloudy evening. Of course the main ‘actor’ was my little boy again. 😀 One thing for sure … the LomoKino is fun!!! I’ve to refrain from being trigger happy with this little fella or I’ll go broke real… >> read more

LomoKino : First Look

Written by • Nov 8th, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Burned two rolls of film on my LomoKino today (too excited to try it!) and finally I have my first LomoKino movie to share. I’ll upload the other one in a day or two. As I didn’t really read the details/specifications of the LomoKino … I was a little surprised how fast you can actually burn a roll! Yeah … probably in like 30 seconds or so if you continue shooting. Ouch! Guess I’ll go hunt for some cheap expired film to play then! I forgot to bring along some… >> read more

LomoKino : iLike!

Written by • Nov 3rd, 2011 • Category: Toys
The clues & images Lomography recently teased us with already concluded that this is gonna be one fun awesome camera and many of us could hear our wallets cry in pain. The people at ThirtySix told me they have one pre-ordered for me (WTH?!) and yet I haven’t recovered from the damage of buying the metal La Sardinas!!! Arghhh!!! Here comes LomoKino! “Create movies of 144 frames on any 35mm analogue film. Watch your developed movies with the LomoKinoScope.” Good thing is this new toy is pretty reasonably priced and… >> read more

Sardina Metal : Unboxing

Written by • Nov 3rd, 2011 • Category: Toys
The metal editions of the La Sardina proved too tempting and I picked both of them up from ThirtySix this afternoon. From the online images I saw of them … I did have a little doubt … that it will be just some cheap flimsy ‘metal’ covered with some gold paint on? I couldn’t wait to get home to unbox them and this is one rare occasion I decided to take some photos of the unboxing process. The two metal babies waiting to be unboxed! Unlike the plastic versions, the… >> read more

Pretty In Pink & Purple

Written by • Nov 2nd, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Ran over to ThirtySix a few days before my Hong Kong trip to pick up a pack of the Lomography X Tungsten 64 film … thinking I could give it a test run during the trip. Unfortunately I was too busy entertaining my little one that I hardly had the time (and mood) to shoot much. Anyway … here are the photos from the roll of Tungsten film. As per what I read & saw online … this film is pretty cool … with a little randomness when it comes… >> read more

Mistakes With Diana

Written by • Nov 1st, 2011 • Category: Fun with film
Forgetting what film was loaded into a Diana F+ camera was probably one big mistake. Realising that I’ve not been using my Diana F+ camera for the longest time and deciding to bring it along with the roll of film (that I loaded in it maybe over a year ago and not know what film) for my recent Hong Kong trip … was another big mistake. I thought I had a roll of ISO400 film loaded and happily fired away (although I only managed to that roll of 120 film… >> read more

No Love For These

Written by • Oct 20th, 2011 • Category: Others
While I was still waiting for a good offer to buy my liver so that I could afford the 2 metal editions of the La Sardina, I thought I might have to let go my lungs too when I saw that there are 4 new special editions of the camera. Thank God these 4 designs don’t seem to tempt me much (if at all). Phew!!! Okay … I must admit the Cubic version does look pretty nice. Perhaps if the first original 4 versions (with retro looking sardines and all)… >> read more

Sardina Gone Metal!

Written by • Oct 13th, 2011 • Category: Others
As usual … Lomography started to ‘poison’ us with some ‘news’ about getting all excited about new ‘toys’ that they were launching. I was praying it would be just some new flash or film … but tragedy struck when I saw that they’ve launched two new metal editions of the La Sardina camera! To make things worse … they seem to look really pretty! Maybe I should tell wifey that I am gonna invest in gold and call up ThirtySix to order two of these metal guys. Hmm … The… >> read more

3 New Girls!

Written by • Oct 3rd, 2011 • Category: Toys
It has been a while since I’ve added any new ‘girls’ to my family of Diana F+ clones … and recently three of them were ‘born’. The yellow ‘Buttercup’ and the blue ‘True Blue’ are the latest ones from Lomography and were available at ThirtySix the minute they were launched. Picked them both up this afternoon while I was there submitting a DVD of photos. The third one … the ‘Daybreak’ is another Urban Outfitters exclusive edition. It actually arrived some weeks back but I was so busy that I… >> read more
